While it was restored from backups and the rogue admin account removed, RiTides then had the site’s email changed to his name and got it taken down again despite having transferred it to someone else to pay for. You can once again find the group at The Wasteland, while I believe they look for a new home.

Wow, what an extremely unkind thing to do. I also puts their threatening non-apology about how 'you could laugh much less about it if there wasn't a way to restore most of what was deleted' into an entirely different light. I got creepy 'Look what you made me do, now i have to be ashamed of myself for punching you' domestic abuser vibes from it, and i seem to have had the right gut feeling. Just an extremely low move from a despicable excuse for a human being.

And ETC served it's purpose as an experiment on if the dakka community could foster across the aisle discussion. Glad to see it going away rather than remaining a staging ground for folks to strut about and denigrate dakka dakka.
They've all got a home in the wastes that's perfectly serviceable. They told RiTides recently on ETC no one left on ETC agreed with his vision so why should they get his website if it was handed over on an understanding that was no longer being upheld?

It's off topic, isn't it? It also affects a lot of dakka members and the whole ecosystem.
If he's embarrassed about getting called out here then maybe he should stop the embarrassing behavior.
I thought RiTides was a prominent admin on here, so what'd stop him deleting this site 3 times for not getting his own way?

It was handed over without condition. He's now destroyed something that wasn't his and he had no right to, twice. I wonder if he'll pretend to apologise this time?
The cross aisle stuff isn't going well, but I suspect that's impossible at the moment.

RiTides was never an admin here. He was a moderator, but stepped down when he set up the ETC forums.
Indeed. I'll leave the thread up to serve as a notice for anyone looking for it, but this isn't the place for the rest of this.
