Thanks!

Taking a break from Battletech for a moment, I did test colors for Horus Heresy era Dark Angels (missing shoulder decals for now). Painting a whole army like this would be daunting but i'm happy with how it turned out. Collecting Horus Heresy has always been a struggle for me because I constantly change my mind about which legion to collect.

Checkers cane out great, and a nice pop of color on the bolter and lenses. Kinda feel you on the workload for painting full GW armies...

Iron Warriors test paintjob, went with a muddy trench base. Looks pretty gritty but it might be too dark overall, debating on shifting to a lighter tan wasteland or red mars basing style.

I might do test models for other legions too, and whichever end result I like the most might end up being the army I pick. Or maybe i'll just forget about it and do historical WW2 stuff and save some money.

A lighter base might help a bit yeah, the dark metal is kinda blending with the mud. Nice hazard stripes!

Iron Hands test colors (my least favorite so far, sadly)

Also finished a 2nd Dark Angels test, changing the basing a bit and freehanding checkers instead of using transfers.

The old dilemma of black or brown base rims...

Beautiful work on the marines, mate. Love the Iron Warriors in particular - the random hazard stripes really pull the lot together!

I really love the subtle weathering on all your space marines. I tend to go 'over the top' a bit on that as it's the rush part of my painting, but it really makes each marine look like an individual.

Thanks! marines are fun to work on but I get burnt out on them quickly

Ooo, nice spaceships. Got the cover very smooth and I lile the glow panels in the rear fins!

Two test color schemes for a potential Wood Elves army, one summer/spring/classic style and the other in autumn colors.

Refurbished some old Battlefleet Gothic miniatures that i've had for over a decade. The cruiser had broken masts, one of the four turrets was missing, and it was snapped off its base. I never actually played the game, I think I had at most 2 cruisers and 3 metal frigates.

Always a joy seeing refurbed BFG ships. Looking great. Very nice Mech painting, I have a soft spot for BT but never played - apart from Mech Online years ago. Might pick up a Star eventually...

Marine scheme looks solid.
