I've watched for years for a Deathstorm Drop Pod with assault cannons (not missile launchers) to pop up on eBay. No dice, except once when it was sold as soon as it was posted and I only learned about it an hour later.



So I've kiiind of given up on finding one to buy, but with the Lion returning and me getting back into 40k TT, I really feel like I need some of these.

I'm not sure if there's a nice 3D printing of the assault cannons themselves that can be modified or installed into a normal drop pod, or anything else like that. I'd take any clever conversion ideas, but I've never been able to find one. Does anyone have any idea how I can get such a model in any way shape or form?

Well, you've got an exact picture of what the thing looks like to go by.

Buy a drop pod. assemble it minus the troop holder.
Lay hands upon 5 assault cannon.
Craft a square base.
Mount the assault cannons into the square base. Bonus pts if you invest the effort to make the cannons raise/lower.

Or see if you can get the money or Ravenwing upgrade sprue with the double assault cannon fitting for the land speeder and bodge that into a mini turret to sit inside a normal drop pod.

Yeah I think I like the turret idea over the guns-in-all-directions one.

The Land Raider Crusader/Redeemer Twin Assault Cannon turret is a good bit for just sticking it on the Pod. There's a decent chance it'll fit right where the normal Storm Bolter fixture goes.

Well the point of the five cannons is to represent the idea that they can fire on every enemy unit within range much like the Hammerfall Bunker has twelve heavy bolters/flamers on all sides.

For sure, but a single, fast-rotating turret with dual ACs seems like it could do well enough too. Certainly close enough for proxy.

Right on thanks very much! I think I might give this a shot for now which I found online: https://youtu.be/jisjHsTOQXs but, failing that, I think I'll either go with stealing that proxy's guns or any of the rest of your guys' suggestions.

Could also fill each of the bay doors with boltguns. Think a hurricane bolter but on steroids.
