So, I picked up a couple boxes of these off of a classified advert (basically yardsale).

thing is, I THOUGHT that these units were represented in warscrolls. ... obviously I remembered wrong as all other parts of the freeguild are represented ... but not the super-chaff militia.

is there some super old warscroll I can use? Or maybe there's a "close enough" unit I could run the militia as?

The Legends warscroll for Freeguild Archers kind of fits these guys. Crummy ranged attack, crummy melee attack, pre-game move because they are so eager...

awesome, thanks for the suggestion! The stats on freeguild archers thematically fit for sure. (I'll be sure to model a few of them with the ramshackle ranged weapons to sell it)

Mind you they need permission from opponent and there's 2 reason he might not want to let you. Either he wants current official what can be taken in tournaments. Or he doesn't want to play when other takes so much handicap taking one of the worst warscrolls possible for cos.

The legend rules in general are quick hacks without effort and they haven't been updated since which can be seen in points here. Others in cos been dropping, these didn't.

For screen to die you spend 30pts more than guard. For shooting you pay 10 pts more and have worser to wound and lack either rend and free unleash hell or more range and double shots.

It's the pre-game move granting value; it allows for capturing objectives in the midfield before the game even starts.

Which generally isn't problem anyway getting them at t1. At worst gives enemy easy charges.

I primarily play Narrative / Casual. We generally favor grabbing models that look cool ... or poaching from garage sale hauls like this one.

So our army lists are extremely suboptimal and noncompetitive ... as long as we get a story for it and make each other laugh we're good.

(Like a warboss trying to find the perfect grot. Or stormcast searching out Hardtogetite, which is totally not Unobtainium. Or a chaos lord planning his daughter's unholy birthday)
