I thought the leviathan dreadnought was going plastic and would be available for 40k? Looking at FW, under 40k, you can buy arms, but you can't buy the torso.

Under 30k, you can buy the torso, 3 are chapter specific. There are many contemptor dreadnoughts but they only sell the torso, no arms or legs.

Now I'm no fancy, big city business type person, but that don't make no sense.

EDIT: I know there are generic plastic leviathans in HH at the GW site.

The 3 Legion specific Leviathans currently available include the torso and legs. Basically everything except the weapons/arms, which are all currently available in the US. I know that only helps if you play one of the three Legions represented by those models, but hey, that Night Lords Leviathan is sweet (I know because I have one).

If you want a plastic Leviathan Dreadnought all you have to do is order one from GW.
You'll find them listed under the Horus Heresy tab on GWs site
Last I checked they were sold out of the extra ranged weapons sprue.

As other mentioned the FW components are still resin and limited to the legions advertised. As you note the generic plastic one is on the GW site not FW.

The FW contemptor torsos attach to the plastic GW kit, hence no legs etc.

Rules wise nothing changed, there are presently 40k rules for both leviathan and contemptors in the FW compendium, but obviously that will be out of date soon with everything else. As for 10th nobody knows what will happen, I suspect the HH dreads will continue to get token FW rules for 40k despite being main GW plastic now personally.

Genuinely not sure I’m following you here?

The weapons are all plastic now, but can be tricky to get hold of as, like all Heresy stuff, the stock wells through fairly reliably.

So for 40K, you’ve the same options as Heresy. Buy a Legion specific body, or the plastic kit, and up gun with an expansion box.

The torsos are conversion kits for the plastic kits, you have to buy both to get the torsos and arms together.

Mr. Big Money, ordering from GW directly, doesn't need the 15% off. Found one on Amazon for $68 US. Haven't bought anything, except Mortarion a week ago, since Christmas.

I'm still trying to decide which loyal marine (non-GK) chapter to pick so I'm going through them all with a fine tooth comb. I'm down to IF, BT, Ultras, and Wolves (already have a couple of hero models and a CP box).

IF: I just like praetorians guarding Terra. Don't mind Yellow and Dorn is a cool primarch, even though their gene-seed no longer allows them to spit acid. Downside they only have a single hero.
BT: Have their fair share of unique characters after the recent refresh.
Ultras: Despite being GW's poster chapter, they only have 5 unique units. Not the biggest fan of their color scheme.
Wolves: Love wolves, but not so much the SW aesthetic, and not a fan of their color scheme. Prefer their 30k color scheme. BTW, who painted Bjorn Ironside? Did he wake up one day, look at his arms and legs and see a lite blue and was all like "Who the F painted be blue?" Lots of heroes for painting.

I've heard that the DA and BA might be due for a refesh in 10th. ??? They have the most [unique] models of any chapter.

Ended up getting an Agastus box, with the Brutalis Dreadnought. Found it for $25.50 US off on eBay. Man the Honey and Capital One apps have saved me so much money.

Assuming joke. I was planning on getting a Leviathan Dreadnought, then stumbled upon a deal on the Agastus, which has a Brutalis dreadnought. It's hard to say no to a good deal; why I got Mortarion even though I don't have a Death Guard army yet, was too good a deal. I have the Leviathan Dreadnought and Contemptor Dreadnought as my next purchases, because the Leviathan Boxset will be gone within seconds to scalpers.
