Hi all, completely new to Age of Sigmar and Seraphon Lizards.

Just saw a box today at a local store called "Start Collecting! Seraphon". I don't know if this is a recent box or an older one.

It contains:

1x Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur
12x Saurus Warriors
8x Saurus Knights

Would any of these models be worth picking up or should I skip this box and save up for the newer models coming out a few months from now?

Literally everything in this box but the Oldblood on Carnosaur will be superseded by new stuff. You could of course use the old models to represent the new things, but this is absolutely someone clearing old stock before it's getting remaindered

There are newer, better models for the Saurus Warriors. “Knights” no longer exist, and were replaced by a unit of cav with bigger better mounts, and better models for the Saurus riding them. The Carnosaur is still valid and no news of it being replaced.

However, if you want a Carnosaur, get the box. The price of the box is like $5 more than the price of the Carnosaur by itself, and the Carnosaur is out of stock everywhere. I grabbed one just this week and will pawn off the two units for like $10e, maybe $15.

After all that, the store didn't even have the box. Some computer glitch, they reckoned.

I'm sorry for the trouble, I think probably best I save my money and then look at making an army with the newer models in a few months' time.

Cheers everybody.

While many of those models might be superceded in AoS proper, they're still good for Warcry v2.

He could also use the saurus knights to represent piles of congealed bird gak, for basing/terrain purposes
