Building a 1000pt Nurgle demon army and I want a Great Unclean One to run the show. What do you all think would be the ideal weapons for this big boy?

At the moment I'm thinking of a Bileblade and the bell. I will have two units of Plague Bearers and at least one of them will be near him at all times so the ability to bring models back to life sounds very nice.

The plague flail seems like a complete non-option because of the low range, you basically only get to use it in melee and not when you charge on BS 4+ in your own turn, while the bileblade can be used on both turns, even if you charged.

S8 is actually an important breakpoint because of the GUO's Psychic ability which lets him wound T9 vehicles (of which there are a lot) on 4+ with the bilesword, but only on 5s with the doomsday bell. Add to that the option of swinging 12 times against a horde and I think the bilesword will be better because of this guy's limited mobility allowing your opponent to choose to engage the GUO with a vehicle, rendering the bell mostly useless. Even a Rhino can survive ages against the bell.

If possible don't finish assembling your model and take it for a test run with both or magnetize it in case the rules change in a year with the new codex coming out.

Solid reasoning for using the sword.

I have a buddy who said he would help me magnetize the model but I'm always afraid of losing the parts.

It's a real shame Nurgle gets no weapons over S8! Hopefully they fix that in the future.
