I see Mantic is sensibly pausing it’s 2nd ed epic reboot. But I can’t find anywhere what scale they were proposing?

I think they said 15mm. EDIT: Main thread says 12mm?

12mm total size of the models for Enforcer, and 11mm total size for GCPS, which means 10mm scale (base to eye)
so similar to Planetfall and Dropzone Commander

I feel its an error with GWs launch so fresh? Plus 12mm sucks. Automatically Appended Next Post: This is a considered opinion... 6mm paints fast, 15mm paints like 28mm in practice. 10/12mm sits at an awkward size.
It does have major plus point however... 1:144 scale models match potentially.

most SciFi games I can think of are 10mm scale 1/144
and people might already have fitting terrain terrain collections
15mm SciFi not so much and for 6mm there is already Battletech
too close to GW might be a problem, but we don't know when LI is actually out and there also might be a benefit if LI is too expensive for people in addtion to WP offering Xenos

1/144 is actually an almost direct match to 12mm, rather than 10mm. 10mm is closer to N scale which is slightly smaller than 1/144.

Everything points to preorders later this month, two weeks into December for release.

as I wrote, we don't know yet
and planning your own business decisions on internet rumours what another company might be doing won't work out well

old problem if "scale" vs "size" which is more of marketing than something reliable
like comparing the size of the different 10mm SciFi model ranges over time you get from 10mm total model size to 13mm model size everything and all of them write "10mm scale" on their range.
while 12mm total model size is close to 1/144 it somehow meets the "10mm to the eye" scale and fits into the range of all the other 10mm ranges out there

I think for anyone following Legions there are two potential failing points for that game; One is price, the other an overly complex/drudging set of rules (I hope to be pleasantly surprised on both of these points, but age and experience has made me cynical! )
If so this could work out OK for Mantic. The Legions release reminds everyone that a scale other than 28mm exists, and suddenly Mantic pops up with a neat set of rules (probably available for free) and miniatures that are half the price. Looking at how well the Warlord Epic scale historical games look to have done, I think there is definitely a potential there.

keep in mind that the "12mm" measurement is for the enforcer minis. and enforcers are large transhumans. about a head taller than the plain human GCPS and Mazon labs figures in the deadzone and firefight games. they're not quite as bulky but it's fairly close to the new HH Marines figures size wise. about a head to a head and a half taller than the regular human figures.
so a 12mm tall enforcer ends up being alongside a 10mm tall human. so the the game's 'scale' is 10mm.
and yeah the Epic Warpath rules will probably be available for free, like all their other games. the free version won't come with full army lists for all the factions, but you can use their online companion website to design lists using a free account, so if you have proxy models you can try it basically for free.
iirc Heavy gear is a 10mm scale game, as is Dropzone Commander, victrix does WW2 infantry and tanks.. pretty sure there are a bunch more.
