As title says. Just curious.

I'm going to participate playing bolt action with my brother (USSR) and a fellow who borrows my US army. I play germans.

I'm considering preparing maps, with simple whether/logistics/support managment system, to enhance the games a bit.

I thought about it, but since they don't have anything for Konflikt 47 I'll sit this one out.

I find it interesting they are trying this.

Straight from the pre-Kirby GW play book.

Are you worried that '47'll go unsupported at some point? I thought about getting into it when it went out buy i hadn't got near enough money back then.

With Konflikt 47 I suppose it's a difficult one though as that's a fantasy and therefore maybe difficult to include in a 'historical' setting for a campaign?

I know it's not quite someone with a Fatties gang in Judge Dredd wanting to take part though, personally I wouldnt have minded..

I have a small collection of ships and just played a first game the other day. It's good fun, especially re-creating the historical battles and see if you can do any better! Playing someone who had the Hood, and was desperate to close the range so shells wouldn't fall onto the weaker decking.. exactly as happened in real life, for example. The attempts to manoeuvre into favourable range bands while lining up for a broadside and keeping your opponent out of theirs are definitely a high point of the game.

VaS is good for ship on ship, bit too abstracted in some areas but fast enough you can have a good few ships per side and have it still work

adding aircraft.. be prepared to add a few house rules, but that aside its fun

its a lot better though if you enforce the "pick a year, no ships not in service by that date" stuff
