I have really hate the bat wings on Tyranids. They are space bugs, not mammals or daemons, and their wings should look like insects rather than bats.


And I think their badass HQ/LOW units should be more badass and awesome but less……beasty, not just larger and more ferocious beasts.

Yes, I'm talking about this kind of guy.ZX-Tole of a incredible manga ‘Guyver’, this guy is the most powerful super-zoanoid, but he doesn't have huge teeth or sharp claws, which are weapons of inferior soldiers. for the most badass one of them all, Zx-tole fight with some far more badass and HIGH TECH bioweapons such as TONS of bio-lasers,living missiles and organic power blades.--------just forget the game rules for now, just for the rule of homebrew coolness.

When the badass Norn emissary released, I will try to conversion a awesome HQ/LOW unit like ZX-Tole. This is not very difficult, except for insect wings. I really don't plan to buy a nurgle fly rider kit just for insect wings, I hope there are cheaper and more suitable alternatives.

Well, the more bug-like wings are on the Pusgoyles for GW.. You may or may not want to.... Uhm.. m@k3 a s!l!con3 m0ld and c@st y0ur own..Which may or may not be 100% legal. if not, you didn't hear it from me!

Cheaper option and possibly cooler would be to make a template and score some clear plasticard into wings, so you can get the traspanency aspect of them. I remember there was a Starship Trooper mini game years ago, but dunno if they ever made a flying bug mini. But yeah- I think the old bat wings aesthetic was because back in the old days GW couldn't be bothered to make separate smaller wings for 'Nid Gargoyles/ bats/ harpies.

no,that Pusgoyles just what i mentioned above,i really dislike that and their wings are too small for a tyranids HQ beast.

I did my warriors with see through wings. (Back when they where shrikes). I thought need them yellow on one side. And on the other I drew black ridges with a pen. I don't have any pictures. But it worked.

I also added a second carapace layer that would open up as it houses the flying wings. Google a flying beetle and you will see what I mean. (Cover wings?) I just made a small mold of green stuff very thin. It was the exact size as my warriors backplate.
