So I actually lost count of the day, so this is…

Day 155 for real. Who knew I could cock up such a basic bit of accounting!

Anyways, Terminator squad assembled. Went with all Lightning Claws in the end.

Belated Day 156

Did a bit more on the Jetbikes, all but finishing the second ones metallics. But I did miss the Aquila. Silly me.

Expect to see these lads finished today, and the Terminators in the spray box.

Day 157

Last jetbike done in metallics and a double check on the other two.

And with the excess gun metal, did the tracks on the first of three Rhinos.

It’s a sign of submission, you know!

Also got the first layer of red on the bikes, and about to do the last bit.

Weapons are going to be a pain, as I’m out of rubber gloves, and there’s not much to hold. Think I’ll dig out the blu-tak, try sticking them down on my palette pad whilst I blitz their Grim Black.

And done for the night.

Tomorrow I’ll blitz the weapons, finishing off the Jetbike units. Maybe do the other Rhino tracks.

Day 158

Jetbikes all done, including all their shooters. Also did the Plasma Coils on the Predator turret, as I’d been meaning to do that for a while.

It’s been greatly slowed the past week or so. But Rhinos are next. Hopefully they’ll prove formulaic enough I can bash them out in a couple of days.

They certainly sound like a good opportunity for batch painting.

Day 159

Cataphractii drybrushed ready for Grim Black, excess gun metal used for the tracks on the second Rhino.

Day 160

Cataphractii Grim Blacked. Was pretty good fun doing, but partially dreading the noodly detailing to come.

Also, as we approach half the year past in 22 days? I should have all my Heresy stuff done, even if I build the last 20 MkVI.

Got a selection of weapons to arm them with, including but not limited to Plasma Cannon, Multi-Melta, Heavy Flamer and Heavy Bolters, as well as Plasma Guns, Volkite Chargers and Flamers and Rotor Cannons. Almost certainly doing a unit of Plasma Cannon, because that’s just a sickeningly hilarious amount of firepower.

Termies looking good - making some excellent progress on them!

Guard, Templars, Dungeons & Dragons, Terrain & More.

Way too little free time.

Altered the title because near six months of continuous daily activity is no mere streak, but a legit odyssey.

Day 165

Definitely another low effort week. Spesh tonight as I made a Madras, and am now full of Madras and Win.

But third Rhino’s metallics started.

And base silver metallics done. Next up, possibly tonight, is giving all that a Nuln Oil wash, and of course obligatory tidy up.

After that just the reds and barrels of the Multi-Meltas and I’m calling them done.

I'd be buggered if I could keep up this level of progress but I very much admire it. Nice work MDG, the rhinos look great.

It can feel like a chore. The Rhinos and Jetbikes took me much longer than I expected, as my enthusiasm has ebbed a bit. But “little every day” has seen me through, even if it was just picking out a bunch of rivets.

It also helps that living on my own, I can leave my paint table out letting me see my progress as it comes along.

Broke out the coppery/brass paint and did the Multi-meltas. Also finally did the barrels on my Melta squad whilst I was at it, and they look much more the part than just being silver.

And as the Rhinos join the Jetbikes in the second cabinet?

I’m reminded I’m now just a Landraider Proteus and a 10 man Cataphractii Squad away from finishing my entire Heresy Dark Angels force.

In terms of future purposes, I’ll be ordering a Command Squad next Friday, and a box each of the Astartes flyers for Legions Imperialis, which I’ll take custody of the week after, on 29 June.

And for future planning? My trip to Orkney is rapidly approaching. Only away for four or five days, but I still need to think of something hobby I can do whilst on my travels.

Painting is out, as I’m flying. Can’t take paint pots in hand luggage, and I’m frankly dubious about packing them in any potential hold luggage. Likewise for tools and glues.

I could pack my Astartes book and just do random Army Lists. It is hobby, but hardly productive hobby.

Been suuuuuper sleepy today, so not as much progression as I’d hoped. But progression is progression is progression.

And further progress. ‘Appen this is a Night Owl weekend, and I can’t say I’m mad about it.

Last push and metallics are done.

Coming up to 1am, so technically Day 168

Reeeeeeeddddddddddd. Also sponsons.

Just needs the red top coat and the Heavy Flamers picked out, and calling it done.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Landraider Proteus finished. And I’ve realised I now have zero Heresy models at least not partially painted.

Just the Cataphractii to go, and they just need metallics, wash and red.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Nearly time to be doing my Necromunda Terrain.

There’s a lot of it. Like, lots and lots and lots. So much, I don’t actually know off the top of my head how much.

But with this tutorial? I should be able to smash through it in relatively little time. Already got the Mahogany Brown, and plenty strong primary colours in the Magic Box O’Stuff.

Pretty much all I need to pick up are some cheapo “don’t mind if they’re wrecked in three days” brushes, and maybe three cans of black spray.
