So GW teased the Mechanicum as the next faction release.

What are your wishes, which kits will make it to plastic?
My personal list what I'd like to see first AND I think is likely:

Thallax (with specialist weapons)
Castellax (with 3 guns and two pairs of arms?)
Domitar
Thanatar (2 gun options)
Tech Thralls (2 gun options)
Myrmidons (gun/cc variant)
An HQ?

Things I'd like but probably won't be in the first wave:
Vultarax drone (pretty special, no?)
Ursarax (they don’t seem to care about CC infantry in HH )
Voirex (very strange Design)
Scyllax/ Servo automata

Things that are likely but I don't really care for:
Triaros/Karacnos tank (they really seem to like their HH plastic tanks )
Krios
Another Knight?

Things I don’t think they'll Transfer at all:
These huge ordinatus thingies.

So, what do you think? How many kits did the Solar Auxilia get anyway?

I think you’re probably pretty accurate in your guesses.

Castellax seem really low hanging fruit. Not only are they archetypal for the Mechanicum, but fieldable by Marines with the right HQ choice.

I’d seriously hope we get plastic Tech-Thralls, as whilst they’re still not gonna be cheap? Still more cost effective than buying them in resin.

For Wow Factor in an initial release? That surveyor thing that was released for all of five minutes would be an eye catcher, and an easy purpose for existing Mechanicum players to boot.

Guess-wise?
Plastic Moirax as their "biggest kit", to match the Malcador that Solar Auxilia are getting for preorder tomorrow.
A dedicated Secutarii kit, allowing for the build of an Axiarch.
Thallax or Tech-Thralls. Probably Thralls though, as they'd be more numerous and thus easier sells.
Castellax.
Triaros/Krios kits.

There's a couple of possible "big centrepiece models".

This could be the time they finally drop a plastic Warhound. Especially since it could be the superheavy for AdMech in 40k too, lol.

I would buy 2-4 warhounds in plastic if they did them.

That said, Terrax drill please.
Thallax in set of 6 (2 sprues of 3)
Castellax paired box
Thallax
Myrmadon 3 pack
Triarios
Krios
Knight Atrapos
Preferably Secutarii upgrades in plastic, and just import Skitarii rangers/vanguard

Terrax drill box art has already been shown in the LI books, so that one coming in plastic is inevitable. Makes sense too since many HH factions have access to them. In fact, it must be the most ubiqutous transport choice in the whole game!

I am not familiar enough with Mechanicum to wishlist anything specific (dont know any of the units by name), but as long as we get all sorts of automata in plastic, big and small, I'll be happy. These kits will be wonderful kitbash fodder for Rogue Trader robots!

I'm hoping for a little bit of crossover to 40k with infantry, even though GW seems adamant in not wanting to do that. Given how subpar the 40k admech release was it would be nice to have some late treats. Plastic drill kit would be awesome.

Don't get your hopes up at all for any Mechanicum stuff crossing to 40k.
At best you could use potential plastic Adsecularis as alternative Skitarii because nothing else ever had 40k rules, unlike the various Marine vehicles or units like the Malcador chassis.

I don't know enough about Mech to have specific guesses and hopes. I just hope they're cool and plentiful.

The terrax was(is? Not sure about 10th) available for 40K Imperium and CSM, but aside from that, yeah. Actual automata and stuff have never appeared since they axed the plans to port them... 8(?) Years ago?
Not that I care, really. My group has practically moved to OPR and I just really like the Mechanicum models, I'd use them as a Dark mech force to complement my DG, probably.

Secutarii had rules. Tunneler had rules.

We also know that rules existed for Fires of Cyraxus. Just like we know that they chose not to publish a finished book for whatever reason. The color plates are still available via Warhammer Community too! There was a Thanatar, Ordinatus, and Mastodon shown off in the snippets.

Secutarii were based on the plastic Skitarii kit and that's why they were in 40k but are also now Legends. The Termax had rules in the same way the Spartan and Typhon had rules for Space Marines. Now those vehicles are all in Legends.

Rules may have existed for the planned Imperial Armour, but I've never seen any concrete evidence beyond "It was going to add HH Mechanicum units". "We" don't know the book was finished, "We" know there was a plot and art, but everything else is an internet rumour that someone got from a friend of a cousin of an ex-GW tea maker.

All of the HH units that got plastic kits for Marines are Legends, there are no rules for the new Solar Aux Sentinels for 40k, and there is no Vanquisher Malcador for 40k. You're talking about units released 2 editions ago and a book that never got released as the basis for "But maybe plastic Mechanicum will be in 40k". Don't even hope because you have to know it's not happening.

As much as I hate to say it, any 30k admech will not get 30k rules. The rapid legending of all the marine plastics, lack of support for new SA releases, and recent tone or “no kit is cross compatible!” make it clear that GW wants each system silo’d and isolated.

Which is just another reason not to play modern 40k.

Well said. One of the many reasons that I'm not interested in 10th edition is the poor support for some of my favorite units, despite them being perfectly fine for use in previous editions. Even Dreadclaws, which have been a perfectly legit option since 3rd edition.

Anyways, as someone who is working on a nascent Dark Mechanicum force, my wishlist:

1: Thallax.
2: Myrmidons
3: Thanatar
4: Triaros
5: Krios
6: Knight Atropos

I have ONE hope, the Artalax, of which, as far as I know, Forge World never even released a concept model.

I am terrified they will release Castellax, Vorax, Domitar, or Thanatar models, as I will have to buy them and I already have enough of the damn things in resin.

I suspect the teaser was for Mechanicum Knights in plastic, rather than the entire faction. It'd make sense as they made the other FW Knights a priority.

Not an optimistic take but IMO a realistic one.

I should think of a new signature... In the meantime, have a

Hopes, plastic servitors. They would be usable for 30k, 40k, both mechanicum and marines and also necromunda. They are a very warhammer looking unit having been around for 30 years. And i know the chance of GW actually making a kit for them is slim.

I really don't get why so many of the 40k plastics don't have rules for age of darkness, i guess GW just don't want people having one army they can use for both game systems.

Just having all the current forgeworld kits made in plastic doesn't get me excited about them as an army. We need something new to drive hype.

it's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Their the ones that change the world, the loud ones just take the credit for it.

Servitors wouldn't be usable for 40k anymore. They've removed them from AdMech & Marines and likely will remove them from Guard too.

One of the big things I'm hyped for plastic mechanicum are the HH2 plastic dreads. Their posability is superb compared to the resin versions. If the larger Automata get a similar treatment, they will be a dream to model/pose uniquely
