Hi,

Could anyone suggest types or makes of resin or plastic shields that could be used to build a 5 man Breacher / Boarding squad - only thought was the GW Deathwatch ones and use the power mauls with them?

TIA

When I was making shields for my guys I was using leftover Mk1 Rhino front armor plates. Hah! I don't imagine those would be easy to find now. Easy to print though!

There's gotta be a file or two for your needs somewhere onlune . . .

Edit: Quick google gave me this

You could check out Shapeways

Seem to be a lot of good options there.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

They just announced a command Upgrade for HH Marines with shields. Might be useful?

I think that those are combat shields, rather than boarding shields. Very different aesthetic and the combat shield probably wouldn't go with a bolter, if that's the intention.

I'd argue aesthetic is fine if the person modelling thinks they fit- Marine shields can come in a variety of shapes and there are already two very distinct designs of boarding shield. You see the same variation in storm shields. A boarding shield shaped like a heater shield is fine.

The bigger issue to me is size- boarding shields are full length and cover most the body, the combat shields are smaller.

That was the point that I was making; not that they shouldn't be used as they aren't the 'correct' shield, but just that they might not create the desired look.

MkVI Legion Assault Squad comes with the option to be armed with Bolt Pistols or combat shields.

That’s probably you best bet on the Bitz market.

Apologies, I had an overly narrow read of "aesthetics".
