In the 70's or 8o's, I believe, a Historical wargamer owned a house in Great Britain

with a seperate home dedicated to wargaming. You could book the facility for the day or weekend.

Would anyone remember this gentlemans name.

Wasn't it something like the Wargames Holiday Centre? I can't remember his name but I'll rummage around and look as I remember going there and being part of the French team re fighting Austerlitz. Had a great time there.

There used to be a story, possibly apocryphal, of an old timey aristocrat who had so many miniatures his house started to subside, so he bought another house for the collection. But in my brief Googling just now I couldn't find it.

I thought going strong under Gerry but it would appear after he bought it from Peter he finally sold it on (he was in charge of making redundancies at the factory he was a manager at, ensured a very good redundancy package, and put himself top of the list for redundancy, part of the cash bought the centre...) and retired close by to have a non business giant wargames centre of his own
