So with shiny new wheels, weekends and means? I can start spending the odd (two, maybe three a year) weekend in Nottinghams, doing pilgrimage to Warhammer World.

And it’s got me thinking…

By which I of course mean, how about Dakka meet up at Warhammer World for some Legions Imperialis fun? Whilst socially anxious, wargaming has typically been the antidote. And it would be nice to meet some of you face to face, before we try to smash each others faces in across the board.

Realistically for me, I’m talking no earlier than February 2025. And the format of games can be discussed and agreed ahead of time. Either as a group, or as individual pairings.

If we get a decent response, could even turn it into a general UK Dakka WHW invasion.

Well, to be honest I’m venue flexible! I live reet darn saaaarrffff, so I’m pretty much committed to a long drive (car has massage seats, so I won’t care). WHW is mostly so I can do some tactical looting for the poor unfortunates with no chance of getting related exclusives.

London seems the obvious venue, but like me, is hardly central. So if there somewhere Midlandsy I’d be up for it.

Perhaps we could also have a voluntary pot for Paul Sawyer’s fund raising?

How about a general Dakka Pagga? Same concept, but system agnostic.

Aye, I am South West myself but willing to travel, maybe run a friendly mini tournament if enough people are keen and a venue can be arranged with any gate money being donated.

On the other bit, I will float the idea of it in the Mod forum. Me and Brook have been throwing ideas around since the news broke so will add it to the pool.

I’ve bunged a thread in Nuts and Bolts. In theory, a period of Dakka fundraiser for Fat Bloke meet ups could work?

ditto here on printed, South Yorkshire, some sort of venue can probably be sorted as I have heard it is possible to leave Yorkshire, not sure if they let you back in though

Just need to get my 1st Legion army painted, get a few games in and hope it’s doesn’t clash with my other love

I live down south near London but would be happy to travel, through not sure they would let me in Yorkshire as originally from Lancashire

The venue is good and I've been meaning to visit Mansfield again. For the time being...we'll see.

So I've been and posted in the other thread, but just wanted to add thanks to the Mad Doc here for coming up with a brammer of an idea!

In general I'm not really a tournament kind of person, so a more casual event sounds great from that pov as there aren't many of them.

Also made me more conscious that I lurk more than I post lol - I've just cleared a load of life admin stuff so hoping to have more hobby time going forward - will make sure to include dakka in that too!
