As the title says, what are the new things that have grabbed your attention, and are being released in 2025?

The main thing I'm looking forward to is The Guards of Traitors Toll. Normally I stick to Sci fi based stuff but the figures for this game are really good.

Also I'll be buying more from Bob Murch's Pulp Figures range, I bought a few this year and I'll probably buy more next year. After collecting GW stuff since about 1982 I don't think I need anymore, so I'm paying the fine and getting out!

If anything, next year will be a little eclectic, I'll just pick and choose from various ranges that catch my eye.

Not that I'll proably use them at all, but those models
Getting in some games of Necromunda: Hive Secundus, with the Malstrain.

And Nemesis: Retaliation should arrive.

Looking forward to the new Eldar. A bunch of my projects are winding down, so about time for them to spin back up. Them and my soulblight.

Mainly having a bit more time to spend on hobby stuff - haven't gotten a tap done since the summer but I'm fully of enthusiasm if I get a bit of time.

On the new releases side the main thing I'm looking forward to is the Oathmark Elf Heavy Infantry. Any other kits North Star put out will have my attention too.

Gaming wise I hope to get a few more games of LOTR SBG in and maybe some Midgard and Void Admiral if time allows. Don't get many games in these days due to work and family.

I am looking forward to Lord Blackfang's PDF rules! I hope to release some rules myself next year!

For myself, I keep wondering if now is the time to try my hand at some historical Naval wargaming? I have been meaning to for a few years now, but have not pulled the trigger.

I'm looking forward to:
* building a Krieg force for 40k - though I'm not sure my bank account is....Prices are way higher than the last time I built a Guard army.
* possibly playing some Battlefleet Gothic
* playing some more Bolt Action

I'm looking forward to the grand relocation. Then I can paint and build... and hopefully finish my RPG which is driving me insane...er.

I'm looking forward to the Death Korps of Krieg release. I never really was that interested in them when they were an all-FW resin army, but with modern plastics? The price will be silly, but I'm still interested, at least in using them to add to my existing small Astra Militarum collection.
I'm also looking forward to whatever new stuff drops for Middle-Earth. I still haven't grabbed my new edition starter or the army books yet, but I plan to early next year.
I would say I'm looking forward to the Orruk Warclans release for AoS, but what I've seen has made me actually not interested in that army this edition. Kruleboyz have been nerfed into the dirt (and they were already underperforming) and Ironjawz aren't much better. I'm still tempted to get a few Ironjawz units and run the Big Waaagh list.

Hmm for me, next year is gonna be interesting. I’m curious to see if anything truly surprising happens, but part of me is expecting more of the same old stuff.

I might check out The Guards of Traitors Toll if it gets good reviews. Hopefully next year will bring better gaming experiences.

I am most looking forward to time, energy and spoons... I didn't get to do a lot of hobby stuff in 2024 due to a lack of all three.
As far as releases go... I may consider some of the new Eldar (some sweet, sweet sculpts) to update my out-dated Eldar army.
I am definitely gonna jump on the Krieg wagon because yes, I need to collect, build and paint a fifth army!!
Might get an Arvus. Maybe. Not sure.
And I am starting to look seriously at 30K/HH because, y'know, I don't need coin when I can have product! I can convert a lot of my old marines with a good repaint, and then add in some extras because I could happily do a Raven Guard force of a decent size... and then add in Solar Auxilia because yes, ANOTHER army!!

Hoping for Legions Imperalis SM Infantry in Mk4 Armour.

Probably not going to be a huge miniatures year for me, tbh, but the previewed plastic Malcador Infernus is going to be a day one buy. I originally bought the Defender on pretty much day one because I loved its whole aesthetic, and while it never won me any Apocalypse games back during 4th and 5th editions, it never got destroyed either. Other Guard tanks I wouldn't mind adding to the collection include the Solar Auxilia Basilisk (since it seems unlikely AsMil will ever get a new kit for theirs) and even the Rogal Dorn, holey as it may be.

My current ork project is once again proceeding a bit, since a friend gave me the wonderful but hideously overpriced Big Mek, which I painted during December. Might pick up a squad of Kommandos or the newer monopose boyz box to bulk out the force a bit, I have a few too many characters. The tankbustas also look nice but only six guys per box rather than ten, and at Kill Team prices, less appealing.

Once the weather is conducive to it, I'll try continuing my Battlefortress paintjob as well, it originally got halted a few years ago because the paint adhesion to the model was so poor, something I'm hoping can be ameliorated by a layer or two of gloss varnish.

Horus Heresy v2.5, to fix all the internal balance issues.

I have too much in the cupboard to be looking at new miniatures..

So I'm delving into the pile and getting an undead army on the table. The plan is to base it with versatility in mind.

Midgard came out late last year, but my copy is in the post. So a 2025 thing in my book.
I hope that I can get a game.

It's also high time that I get my Napoleonic figures on the table. I got them 2 years ago and they've been put in a nice portable box to stay in my cupboard.

I'll go with two bits that should be fairly early in the year, I hope:

- Battletech: Mercenaries KS rewards arriving
- Actually launching the podcast we've been working on for 6 months...

Our store woes of 2023 seem to finally be coming to an end and with it the opportunity to really grow the community again instead of just surviving. Might even get back to events this year, though I'm pretty happy to just play a bunch of games.

40k is still going strong locally and I need to get more games in while its still an edition I enjoy.

MCP and Infinity just had a big spike in interest and I've been busy with demos. Hoping to see both grow.

Looking to keep getting in games of Judgement and Shatterpoint as well. Malifaux has been on the backburner for me, but there's some new interest, but I don't really have the time for it these days. I'd also love to see SFG bring Warmachine back to prominence, but I'm not going to hold my breath....

My goals for this year are minimal, in part due to moving away from my gaming group in one state to return to the home of my mother in a different state, in order to assist her in her declining years.

That said, my brother (an electrician) is installing multiple new electrical outlets around the perimeter of the basement in mom's house:
- one reason is to end the tangle of extension- and power-cords that appear every time his band comes to practice;
- the other is for the hobby/gaming area I carved out of the available space!

I assembled shelves to get all the toys organized, set up my painting and construction tables, and utilized a lovely 1 inch think, 4'x8' sheet of plywood for the new gaming table.

I will be applying for work soon, and once that schedule gets sorted I'll begin the search for new opponents. Until they are found, plenty of time for painting minis and constructing and painting terrain.
