It`s only the third month
that I am taking part in this monthly challanges in the Forum,
but today I recognized that this has changed something for me...
-it has changed my addiction. Away from buying more and more plastic so much, that I couldn`t paint it in a Year, even if I did nothing else,
to getting addicted to the part that really matters - to building and painting and having fun with that!
So a big thank you to you Nevelon for taking on this burden every month of organizing these challanges and making others addicted in a better way

Seconded. I started taking part in the monthly challenge three or four years ago, and my painting has improved by leaps and bounds. It's not strictly competitive, but seeing my models side by side with the work of other hobbyists using very different techniques has inspired me to go in different directions than I would have otherwise. Thanks to Paradigm and Nevelon!

Hear hear! I started back in 2015 in the very second ever one of these challenges, and I've been improving my painting game ever since. Sure there have been some missteps along the way, with me feeling like I took a giant leap backwards in quality, but overall my painting now is much better than it was 10 years ago (my bones just creaked at that thought), and it is these monthly challenges that have mostly inspired me to get that much better. Thanks to Paradigm for starting the whole thing, and to Nevelon for taking up the torch when Paradigm moved on!

Seconded some more. I'm the kind of person who can drift out of a hobby or pursuit without even meaning to - I decided a while back I needed to reorganise the Lego Star Wars shelf (I had everything all fit in perfectly, in timeline order, and then they had to go making shows between Jedi and Awakens and where in a packed shelf am I supposed to find space?), and not having a clear plan I decided I'd deal with it later, and 'later' became almost all the sets I have from 2023 and 24 still in their boxes under the table. Painting and modelling could easily go the same way - I don't need to paint more, I've got my 1K CSM list pretty much set in stone now to the point I don't bother taking it out of the carry case between game nights, and every time I finish a big project like last month's Stormtalon it feels good to just put the brushes down and do something else entirely for a couple of evenings. But the whole time I've been here, the painting challenge has served the role of those daily login rewards games have, in keeping 'sit down and paint' just something I do for a bit most days. Sometimes I don't really have the urge to paint hard, so I just do some simple work on one mini, or slop some contrast paint onto a couple of bases, but quite often once the brush is in my hand, I find I'm in the mood, and keep going - so that 'couple of evenings' I take off never stretches to long enough that I need to make a conscious effort to come back.

Yes, thanks for organizing and running this! I've been painting more and more. It used to be my least favorite part of Warhammer, but now I love it! Except edge highlighting. #(*^ edge highlighting.

I'd like to 6th this! Outside of these challenges I never feel like it's a good use of my hobby time to spend so many hours on one mini when I have a wall of unpainted armies. I love the chance to flex some creative muscles and see how far I can push one paint job, and I always end up with a mini I'm really proud of. Thank you for running these for us!

Thank you all.
It’s really the community and everyone pulling together and joining in. I just do the paperwork. And rule with an iron fist. You know, the little things...
I find them really useful as a motivation tool. Deadlines and goals help with my hobby workflow. And while I can normally find something close to the top of the Pile of Shame that needs to be finished, sometimes these inspire me to dig out some forgotten relic and paint it up. Which is always fun to break up the monotony.
A quick search shows Para last posted here about a year and a half ago. No idea what he’s up to, but wishing him the best. One thing about forums, people drift in and out. We’ll still be here.
