So we have seen the rise of the tech guys to commanding heights - are we seeing the same with gamers? CNN had a boardgame manufacturer on to explain the impact of tariffs on small businesses, channel 4 in the UK used the contents of the kill team start set to illustrate tariffs, multiple UK politicians play games or paint models. Is our moment to seize power and influence here?!?

Well, VIDEO games are certainly positioned to start pushing their enormous monetary value into a position of power and influence that far exceeds Hollywood.

Physical games? I don't think there's anywhere near enough money in it to make a serious dent in things.

I think the "true" influence of Wargamers is that a lot of Think Tanks use games and game-Based learning to create the next generation of policy from Climate Change, to Politics, to Economic policy. Therefore, the power of the Wargamer is all ready established and built into the system. There are a lot of folks who build games professionally that you will never see on a store shelf.

Bob Mortimer mentions Warhammer quite a lot on Athletico Mince.

And I once served him in a Games Workshop store.

Forbes posted an article where they talk to tabletop games industry members (e.g., Loren Coleman, founder of Catalyst Game Labs) on how tariffs will affect the gaming industry. In years past, you would have never seen such an article:

On culture, GW is pretty much the biggest influence in how Orcs are percieved (green and large, rather than grey and small) and 40k is seeping into the mainstream.
