Hi Everyone and THANK YOU for the kind words.
The Apocalypse table that includes all these images was done in 28-30mm scale for the RetCon Convention last summer in Plainview N.Y. (Long Island). It was done almost entirely using 1/2 inch insulation foam coated with tinted dry wall compound. The details that aren't cast, or custom made by me, are the cheapest O scale & 1/48 scale doll house furniture I could buy. The whole table measured 4 ft wide and 12 ft long. You can see a brief YouTube video on it by typing in "Cool Apocalypse Gaming Table". If you're in Long Island for RetCon this year, stop by and visit me. I'll be selling off what's left of the table as single structure pieces as well as lots of other models and miniatures.
Happy Gaming (and modelling)

If you have the time, can you send a link or some tips on how to make similar looking water? I am working on an oil refinery and want a runoff or a stream a polluted water. Thank you |

The water is pretty basic - I first paint the river bed the colors I think will look how I want the water to enhance. Greens, browns and yellows for sewer water I thought. Then I used a two part clear epoxy resin - the cheapest I could get that was acrylic or water based so that I could add more acrylic paints and it would cloud and mix into the still wet clear. This step gives the water a very realistic 3d look. Finally, after it dries a day I add some more clear to give it depth. |
