Image Description: I deliberately eschewed the oft used green tones for my Tallyman of Nurgle in favor of trying something a bit different that would still capture the foulness and decay expected from any Nurgle model. Most of my Nurgle projects this year, including Epidemius, have been base coated with Desert Yellow washed with Devlan Mud. Epidemius was then highlighted with a progressively lightened mix of Kommando Khaki, Rotting Flesh and Bleached Bone. Various other colors were used in select places, such as a bit of Asurmen Blue on the belly before highlighting and some Baal Red around the maggots to reflect the skin irritation in those areas and to make their Skull White color stand out all the more. Scab Red was used sparingly around some of the open sores on his body. The only overt use of green on the model is the Dark Angels Green on the glass part of the hour glass. This was coated with Gloss Varnish after painting was completed to make the glass seem reflectively shiny and more realistic.
