This guy was the founder of the philosohpy that underpinned (continues to underpin depending on who you talk to) East Asain and especially Chinese thinking. It was especially relevent to my gender studies module Men and Women in Imperial China. Confucianism is widely percieved as having been patriarchal in nature although that is disputed to some extent. |
