This is the first model that I completed for my second Dark Eldar army. When I saw this color scheme in the new codex I fell in love immediately, and their background nailed it entirely. At that point I had my most of my Dark Eldar stuff worth 1000p already finished. I decided to ramp up to 1500 with flyers and make everything Lords of Iron Thorn from hereon out, eventually sell my old stuff and replace them too. Most likely I found a buyer who is willing to pay a little bit for the actual paintjob so that dont make too much of a loss.
If you are interested in this color scheme, something worth considering. I initially got the Dark Eldar painting guide and went from there. I just dont know how they manage to apply shades on vehicles without it looking horrible. I went a different route and airbrushed the wash which allowed me to some natural looking gradients in the purple metal coating.
Another thing: They most likely did a mistake in the painting guide, or I’m color blind, which I highly doubt. They claim the color used for the blue parts are Incubi Darkness, to make it look like in the codex you have to Stegadon Green Scale though, which is *actually* a blue.
I know OSL is cheesy as crap, but I just couldnt resist. I just got the airbrush, it’s brand new, I gotta do this. Please cut me some slack ;)
Some issues with the quality of the metal surface aside (it’s a bit too rough, I made a mistake while priming) I am very happy with how it turned out.
