This piece represents a community, coal-fed "heat bunker" which provides warmth to the rest of the village. In theory, the bunker uses the six lateral "heat pipes" to deliver heat to the village. The main bunker is half a toilet paper roll. There is an empty space beneath this for a flickering tea light to simulate the flame. The metal cylinder on a pole is supposed to be a gong so when a villager takes a turn feeding the bunker, they hit the gong to let the village know that warmer air is on the way! The heat pipes are bendy straws with wheels from a 1/7 model tank kit for control valves. |
