I really like that yellow paint, but those highlights on armour could be little less attractive |

really bad highlighting..!! there's no shading and the gold doesn't look realistic |

Me oh my, take your rage out on me utrinque. PS: When I criticize your terrible spelling and grammar, I at least tell you how to improve. Tell me how to do better if you really want to criticize my painting. I'd listen. |

I suggest drybrushing on the edges of armour, or perhaps mixing and fading the colour from the center of armour-area to the edges...
Happy? |

Remos, he was talking to utrinque. I would suggest going for a layered highlight. Start with a 2:1 mix of shadow grey and space wolf grey that you paint along every edge. Then increase to 1:1 mix that is painted along the edges that would most refelect the light. Then do a straight space wolf grey highlight along the refective points (where the edges meet). The gold could use a wash of sepia and then light mithral highlight on the most prominent edges. |

You did very well on the yellow. How did you layer it? |

Thanks for the ideas wyomingfox! I'm yet to do a layered highlight like that on power armor, but I've been hoping to for a while. Next time I paint some Marines I'll try it out! The yellow was Iyanden Darksun and about 5 or 6 layers of thinned sunburst yellow. And Remos, sorry for the misunderstanding - that comment was directed at utrinque, and he and I don't really get along here. |

Thanks, do you use a white or black primer. The reason I ask is that I often use a black primer and I wonder if your yellow technique will turn oiut as good on a black primed model. |

 Don't worry bout it Remos!
I used a black primer for these guys. If I was going over white, I'd probably just use the Sunburst Yellow right off the top. |
