Everyone has a "first" army and this is mine. After making a templars army for my son and a blood angels army for me with very few changes from the stock figures, i decided to try my hand at a a fully converted army -- in many ways this was a learning army - some of the conversions are a lot better than others, and i was just learning to paint neatly - but some of the stuff is fun and i wanted to share it.
Clowns have always freaked me out a little - seemed like a good subject to base a chaos army on.
the general fluff was to have a "traveling circus of horrors", infiltrating as show people, and destroying the Imperium from within....
Unit Photos
HEADQUARTERS

this is "Aunt Daisy", my HQ - used as a Chaos Lord and Demon Prince - note mercury type flying boots - and rubber chicken that counts as a "Blissgiver"

this is "Raggedy Andy" - my other Demon Prince - and a summoned greater demon in a pinch -- the dead templar was to taunt my son....
so apologies to all other templar players out there -- nothing personal....
ELITE

Terminators, combi-meltas, with heavy flamer, 1 Pfist, "The Plushies" with their ride "The Menagerie" - supposed to be those big plush characters that all kids love....panda, lion, elephant, snake, squirrel and heavy flamer pig (pork BBQ)

Dreadnaut, plasma cannon, heavy flamer, CCW - "Beau Zeau" - this is my favorite model in the army, just lots of fun from the sculpted whiskers to the top hat and floppy shoes....

Spawn X 2 - the "Sideshow Freaks" and the "Puppet Show" - thought that the spawn should be features, Pay no attention to the tentacled thingy behind the curtain....
FAST ATTACK

Raptors - "The Flying Rear-enders" - these were a lot of fun to build - human cannon ball, power-fist pies, and coming up with fast moving forms of locomotion
TROOPS

Thousand Sons or regular chaos marines with las/plas - "The Numbskulls" and their ride

Khorne Berserkers or regular chaos marines w/flamers - "The Roustabouts" - with mauls for setting up the big top, and their ride

Nurgle or regular chaos marines with meltas - "The Mardi Gras Boyz" - jester caps and beads....with their ride

Chaos marines or infiltrating cultists - "The Mimes" (i figured no one could resist shooting them) note the silencers

Demons - Cotton Candy/Candy Floss - nice and gooey
HEAVY

Obliterators - "The Hucksters" - while pushing hot-dogs, soft serve custard and souvenirs, they deal death....

Devastators - "The BOZOkas" - juggling tank killers - one has butter fingers....

Defiler 1 -autocannon and flamer, 2 CCW - "The Big Top"

Defiler 2 - 4 CCW (the lions) - "The Pie Wagon" - giant pie plate thrower - note the marines "baked in the pie"
Army List
Again - i tend to play best looking models which hurts my competitiveness - the dread is in every list
Why I Started This Army
just for fun and to learn by doing on conversions
