Cvife's Death Guard

Army background

So, Lets start with an amusing story about how arguably one of my favorite armies came to be...

Basically, it was back during the beginning of my first year at university, in fact, the day I first received my student loan, so, I did what any sane student with more money than I'd ever seen would do, I went to the pub... and got drunk.

It got to about 8 o'clock when I remembered that it was a Thursday and that meant it was Games Workshop's gaming evening, so being drunk I decided it was time to do what any Warhammer player with money will naturally do... buy warhammer.

I bought the first thing that interested me (something I normally tell new players to do and don't normally do myself, ironically) which just so happened to be a box of the metal Plague Marines, and so the Saga begins.

Anyhow, on to the actual army background,

The main issue in the very small amount of background for this army is that it really isn't in the 41st millennium, in fact I call it a 'Mid Heresy' army, which means that its from that short period of time between the death guard getting trapped in the warp and them running and hiding in the Eye of Terror, or the Horus Heresy as most people call it hence why it is still in Pre Heresy colors. The real reason for this is simply because I liked the color scheme.

Units

Anyway, here's some pictures of my favorite stuff:

the Daemon Prince:

Plague Marines:

one of many Rhinos, I specially like this one:

Some Nurgle Havocs, don't complain, if they can maintain a Plasma Gun, why can't they maintain a Missile Launcher?

Some Plaguebearers:

Two Blight Drones, some of my favorite models ever:

And Finally, something ominous and scary to show what I'm working on at the moment...

Conclusion

So in conclusion to this article, I would like to say three things: 1- armies started when drunk are good 2- armies painted when drunk are bad 3- if you think an army or model looks cool, buy it and paint it, it might be fun.
