The inspiration for this Deathwatch project comes from two sources. This awesome image I found through a Google image-search and the Deathwatch Killteam competition Dakka held earlier this year.
The image captures the futility of the rebel guardsman, in what can only be described as an "EPIC FAIL" and the business-like efficiency of the Astartes. You can see the abrupt change in the guardsmen's momentum as the bolt shell enters and explodes from the torso. I imagine the DW thinking "I heard about your little insurrection and this is what I think of it..."
In mocking up a pose I found the bolt pistol and the standard left arm featured in the image a little wussy. So I decided to give the project a proper boltgun and a powerfist which I think adds to the sense of momentum and power
