Full Army Photo

My Army, although I do not have a full army picture yet, has been painted as if they are battle worn and so have a slightly dark, muddied look to their armour. The Close Combat Weapons in the Army are all blood splattered, showing the many kills the Marine with his weapon has had in battle.

Unit Photos

- This is my whole squad of Assault Marines as a unit. I started painting them with a Mechrite Red and then went over this with Blood Red. The Bolt Pistols are just a basic Blotgun Metal with a Badab Black wash. The Helmets have been first of all painted Sunburst Yellow and I have then applied a Gryphone Sypia (spelling?) wash over this to make the helmet look battle worn and make it look more realistic. For the chainswords I painted Chaos Black with stripes of Sunburst Yellow. I then splattered on Red Gore to make it look as if the Marines have just ripped someone up. For the straps around the chest I used a 1:1 mix of Boltgun Metal and Mithril Silver with a Chaos Black centre. For the Jump Packs, I applied Blood Red straight onto the Chaos Black undercoat to make it still have small black streaks in it to make it look battle worn and used. The Sergeants Power Fist has been painted Mithril Silver with, like the Chainswords, a Red Gore splattered onto it to make it look as if he has just hit someone full on in the face. His Storm Shield I have given him was painted Mithril Silver with a Badab Black wash. The wings on the top were left black to look dark and menacing. I used bleached bone for the parchment on the Storm Shield with Chaos Black writing and a Mechrite Red top. In all the recesses of the Marines armour, I have used a small amount of Badab Black wash to darken the Marines and make them look more like they have been in the battle for a while and are very muddied.

Troops: 10 Tactical Marines with Plasma Gun or Flamer and Sergeant with Plasma Pistol and Power Weapon; Tactical Squad; Assault Squad with Plasma Pistol and Sergeant with Power Fist and Storm Shield; Scout Squad with 2 Boltguns, Heavy Bolter and Sergeant with Power Weapon;

Why I Started This Army

After over a year of collecting Eldar, I decided that I needed a new army as well as my Eldar. I like the look of the Blood Angels and so I went for them.The 5th Edition Codex for them is relatively good with a few exceptions and I really like the fluff of the army.

== ==My Army is a Blood Angels 2nd Company based army. My custom fluff for all of my units is that they are all battle hardened warriors with year opon year of experience in the fight. These years of experience have made most of the Marines succumb to the Red Thirst. However, through sheer willpower, none thus far have succumbed to the worse Black Rage and so have their power mostly under their own control. With the powerful minds they have, the Blood Angels of my 2nd Company are incredibly survivable, making life saving decisions for not just themselves, but for their Battle Brothers.
