Army Background

1000 points of the 7th Shadow Company
In preparation for the Adepticon Team Tournament, I finally had the motivation to field a fully painted 1000pt army. After much painting and converting, I finished 1000pt of True Scale Raven Guard in all their stealthy hit-and-run glory. I have been playing Raven Guard for a while, and I really wanted to give credit to the established fluff of the Ravens. The force consists mostly or Scouts and utilizes these recruits in every aspect possible. Scouts on foot, scouts in cloaks, scouts on bikes, scouts on Land Speeders! If there is any way to sneak behind enemy lines and cause chaos and disruption, these guys have it covered.

Shadow Captain and Command Squad
My HQ, utilizing a mix of Forgeworld Power Armor marks, and the Chapterhouse Tru-Scale kit. Being Raven Guard they are pretty flexible, fielding a mix of close combat support and shooting with storm bolters and a melta gun. Of course every captain needs a ride.

I want you inside of me!
The captain will ride in his trusty Razorback, equipped with assault cannons to strike from the heart of the enemy. Stealth is the name of the game, so why would you give your position away by shooting form a distance. Get close, then hit them with dakka!

Somebody call for some diversionary fire?
Sometimes, stealthy only goes so far. Certain tactical situation may call for a diversion, and what gets the enemies attention better than a series of explosions from a Thunderfire Cannon. And when diversions no longer gets the trick, then just shoot the heck out of the enemy and give your scouts an opportunity to get back to safety!

I just wanna go fast!
Fast Attack support is provided by scouts on bikes. Fast movement, supportive fire from grenades, and a combi-melta to boot. And while the enemy is running from the explosions caused by the Thunderfire Cannon, they might just run into a minefield layed by these sneaky gits!

Need a lift?
Further Fast Attack support is provided by a Land Speeder Storm. Ready to burn out the enemy hiding behind cover, and zipping along the battle field to deliver their cargo of scouts ready to do some damage!

Here's Johnny!
Riding in the Storm will be the squad of assault oriented scouts. They are either playing gangsta, hitting the enemy with drive by shooting from their shotguns and combi-flamer, or charging the enemy while they are ducking behind cover from the grenades launched by the storm. The enemy won't even know what hit them.

Rapid Fire!
Camped out on an objective will be the main job of these guys, giving supportive fire to the assault scouts. Pure bolter spam. Nothing fancy about that, but gets the job done nicely!

Bullseye!
And while the assault scouts are slicing and dicing and the tactical scouts are laying down a line of bolter rounds across enemy lines, these guys will be taking on the big guys. Don't shoot until you see the whites of their eyes, but thankfully we got some powerful scopes!

Future Plans
To bring the army up to 2000 points I am thinking about expanding the Scout Bikers to a unit of 5, adding a unit of Assault Terminators in a Land Raider, a Librarian HQ in Terminator Armour, and a unit of 5 Sternguard Meltacides in a Drop Pod. That still gives me 100 points to play around with, so we will see what to do about that.
