So my salamanders have been in retirement for awhile and im pulling them out for a few games today, Im not to sure who it is im playing yet, so stand by for that. but anywho here is the list;

ok so i ended up playing necrons, and we went down to 1850, so i took out the the scouts two terminators and a all the power weapons because i realised i was over points before. However here was his list

Necrons won the deployment and this is how we deployed;

Every tactical squad combat squaded to maximise scoring, assault terminators went into the landraider crusader along with the chaplian and vulkan. the thunderfire went into the ruins, and the rhino hid behind the land raider and ruins.
The necrons deployed all three warrior squads one in the ruins with the overlord, one behind the ruins with a lord and one behind the hills with a lord, orikon hid behind the ruins.

Salamanders turn one
To start the things off i dropped in my Ironclad dreadnought and a tactical squad. if i hit with the dread's pod i would have gotten 12 hits with the flamer, as it was it scattered 11 inches back, however the marines pod moved forward untill it hit the warriors squad and stopped. the land raider moved as far as possible up the hill.
The ironclad managed to hit and kill two warriors and the lord with his flamers. and the Two combat squads killed another six. the thunder fire shot and killed four. the land raider went flat out. His reserection rolls were horrible and only two stood back up along with the lord.
This is a summary of my first turn;

Necrons turn 1
His turn saw him moving his warrior squad behind the ruins forward to hopefully get some gauss shots at the dread, and repositioning his depleted warriors to either shoot at the dread or the marines.
His moved necron squad only scored one glancing hit and his depleted squad also only did one glancing hit. The squad in the ruins was out of range.
This is the summary of the turn;

Salamanders turn 2
All my reserves show up, the drop podding tactical squad, and two gunships. The tactical squad dropped down by the advancing necron lords the flamer combat squad provided a road block, while the other went to the objective. the dread moved forwards, and so did the combat squads, the rhino moved forwards and the land raider pivoted and positioned to shoot between the rocks.
In the shooting phase the Ironclad dread, tactical squad and land raider combined to kill the lord and 9 warriors earning me first blood. The recently arrived tactical marines, thunderfire cannon, and gunships combined to kill 13 necron warriors and the lord on the advancing warrior squad,my failed dangerous terrain and his armour save. however they made eight of their get back up rolls, but not his lords.

Necron turn 2
The necrons reserves all arrived as he could reroll all his rolls. and he deep struck them immediatly teleporting his remaining squad onto the objectives in my deployment. His orikale turned into a beast.
In the shooting phase his first monolith particle whipped my combat squat with the sergeant in the top corner, hitting all five as well as two from the multi melta squad. he wounded 4, and i promplty went to ground saving none. on the other combat squad i saved one. he then shot his gauss from the monolith into my dreadnought stripping the last hull point. and then tried to fire everything else into my planes forcing one to jink but taking no hull points.
His orikal in beast mode charged my combat squad with the recently lost sergeant and wiped them all.

Salamanders turn 3
The Gunships dropped down in hover mode to do a hoverstrike on the warriors controlling an objective. The land raider moved forward letting out the terminators, vulkan and chaplain, hoping to get at least four sixes in assault with the monolith. The two combat squads were pinned and the rhino moved forwards towards the new threat. the thunderfire cannon realizing it now had no targets repositioned for a shot next turn.
In the shooting phase the pinned multi melta shot the closest monolith missing, the land raider shot its assault cannon and multi-melta full ballistic skill into the monolith doing nothing. The gunships combined did a total of 17 wounds killing 6 warriors before the overlord tanked them all taking 1 wound, 2 would stand back up.
The assault terminators managed to assault the monolith, however they only did three glances leaving it to roam wherever it pleased.

Necrons turn 3
The necrons moved their monoliths to start portalling marines, one by the thunderfire, one by the combat squad on the objective and one by the assault terminators.
His two remaining warrior squads fired into the far Stormtalon gunship downing it, but the two monoliths could not damadge the second one. The three monoliths all portal of banishment, killing one lightning claw assault terminator. and catching the thunderfire cannon, and techmarine, but we assumed that since the cannon had no strength value it insta failed its test. if this is wrong please let me know. other than that there were no more casualties
The orikale charged the assault marines and challenged the thunder hammer sergeant accepted and no wounds were done to either side.

Salamanders turn 4
Turn 4 started with the lone marine moving toward the objective in the open to provide some insurance. The other combat squad moved into cover. The techmarine moved toward the monolith along with the land raider. the rhino stayed put to help against the behemoth. the Stormtalon hovered backwards 6 inches.
In the shooting the snap firing Multi melta in the enemy's deployment shot at the monolith missing. In the home field the land raider shot the monolith and caused a glance. The Multi melta in the rhino also shot at the monolith but caused no damage. The two drop pods shot the necron squad doing 1 wound. The Gunship shot at the warriors squad killing two before the overlord saved the remaining five wounds.
In assault vulkan Gloriously intervened for the terminator sergeant and caused one wound to beast orikan, taking one himself. The techmarine charged the monolith doing a glance.

Necrons turn 4
Monoliths one and three reposition to get better shots and the third stays put. The two warrior squads stay put but 1 shuffles towards the gunship to get more in rapid fire range.
Monolith three particle whips the four man combat squad scattering and doing one wound, they go to ground and save it. the gauss does nothing. Monolith one partical whips the rhino stunning it and causing a glance with its gauss. The second monolith portal of exiles the combat squad killing the multi-melta, and and shoots gauss at the Gunship doing nothing. Both of the necrons shoot at the Stormtalon and on a turn of luck for me only cause one glance which i save with my jink.
In assault Vulkan causes 3 wounds to orikan thanks to the re-roll from get him boss and he fails two invuls dropping him, my terminators consolidate 1 inch. But of course orikan gets back up again.

Salamanders turn 5
The multi-melta combat squad disembarks from the stunned rhino taking the objective. The storm talon stays put to hoverstrike the warriors. The one man marine squad moves forward hugging terrain by the objective. the land raider moves 6 inches towards the smaller necron warriors as well as the terminators.
Shooting starts with the land raider blazing away with the assault cannon and one hurricane bolter shooting full the rest snap firing at the warrior squad killing five of which 2 get back up. both the home field Multi melta and the backfield one snap fire at monoliths and miss. The hoverstriking Gunship cause 2 rends and three regular, the lord look out sirs the rends and kills two warriors and saves the three remaining.
In assault the techmarine does nothing to the monolith. The terminators attempt to charge the warriors squad taking 6 wounds from overwatch, making all there saves only to fail their charge range.

Necrons turn 5
In the movement phase everything stays put except for orikan who moves towards the Terminators.
Monolith 3 unloads everything at the four man combat squad scattering with the particle whip and missing or failing to wound with the gauss. Monolith 1 portal of exiles the squad on the objective killing one, and causes one glance to the land raider. The last monolith trys to exile the the four man squad in the back field and fails kills one, and they fail morale, the gauss shoots at the stormtalon causing a glance. Which the warrior squad promptly takes down with gauss fire. The last warriors squad causes 2 more glances to the land raider.
Orikan charges the terminators with 1 wound left gets through the overwatch and goes back into challenge with vulkan, who fails to wound, and orikan sneaks two wounds through, which vulkan fails to make even with re-roll, earning him slay the warlord.
GAME CONTINUES
Salamanders turn 6
The techmarine has an epiphany and realizes he was stupid and moves toward the necron squad to try and clear the objective. The land raider stays still to unload everything. The back feild multi-melta squad moves to get line breaker. The rhino moves six toward the objective to drop off the combat squad. The three marines regroup and move back onto the objective. The lone marine moves out of cover to provide insurance on the objective.
The land raider shoots both hurricane Bolters and Assault cannon at warriors and the multi melta at the monolith, causing six casualties on the warriors and doing nothing to the monolith. the drop pods kill another one. Three get back up. Every other multi melta either misses or fails to do damage.
Orikan dies to the terminators without causing a wound and they consolidate 1 inch. The techmarine declares an assault on the warriors and gets lit up with 5 wounds and fails his armour save. ORIKAN FINALLY STAYS DOWN FOR GOOD.

Necrons turn 6
All three monoliths remain stationary, as well as the warriors.
The partical whip from monolith three kills two from the five man combat squad. Monolith one portals the four remaining marines on the objective killing one, and then causes a glance to the land raider killing it.Monolith two fails to cause damage to the three man squad and the gauss also does nothing.
There are no assaults.

Everything consolidates their objectives spreading out to minamize the hurt.

Necrons turn 7
The far warrior squad teleports through the monolith to my objective.
Monolith two marines in my home field objective, who then fails his morale and books it eleven inches. the teleported warriors run towards my objective contesting it. the lone marine survives against everything shooting it against all odds. and the overlord kills two marines through shooting.
The overlord charged the remaining marine but failed to kill it.

Ok so that was actually a very enjoyable game, but long. the main thing i learned was that necrons with three monoliths are suprisingly mobile and durable. looking back a huge mistake was the techmarine not going for a simo charge with the marines on turn 5 i was to intimidated by the monoliths. my multi-melta's definatley did not do as much as i thought they would. however i would love to hear all of your thoughts and suggested tactics. i am usually a tau player so am not well in practice with marines so would appretiate tips.
