She is Eternal
The rest of his squad dead and the sole survivor drifted outside reality. Inside his bulky armored suit runes flashed anxiously. The lights a mosaic across his face as he stared out into the roiling seas which engulfed him. Pinks morphed to reds which sunk to purples riotously changing in random swirls and eddies. He was used to the colors but it was impossible to grow accustomed to the leering eyes and deformed faces which formed in the haze to leer and scream at him silently. Her voice was there as well and as always She whispered to him.
The words were a delectable honey to the ears. "Your suit is failing. I can feel it's feeble seams coming undone. You will never leave this place." She sang and only his will kept his mind whole. He gritted his teeth and the runes changed. His sensors had found purchase in reality. He jumped.
Emerging in a flash of amber light he appeared a dozen feet in the air. The battle raged below his feet as man soldiers fired their rifles into his brethren in the distance. Aiming down as he fell to the ground he depressed the firing stud. Gossamer string burst forth as he moved his weapon sweeping the men and the screaming began. He his the dirt and watched them dissolve as trillions of atom width filaments contorted and flexed around them. Others turned and raised their rifles to fire. He engaged his jump pack and where we was became empty space.
He floated in the Warp; the nightmare reality bordering our own. "I have your leader." she said coyly. "I'm pulling his soul apart. He feels no pain but he is aware that what he was is gradually becoming less and less. I drink him so slowly." She laughed. "I will devour you. But don't worry you will feel everything." She promised. The runes changed. He jumped.
Now he was standing in the mud. He saw that he had appeared behind one of the human artillery machines. He could see the crew on the platform in front of him loading a shell into a mechanism to rain destruction down upon his companions. He pulled the trigger and made them parts of them evaporate into thin mist. The remainders sank to the ground into wet piles. He jumped onto the platform being careful not slip on the mess. He looked around and spied a grenade. Picking it up he armed it, set it atop a pile of munitions, and jumped.
"You are my birthright and I shall have all of you. Your baubles and trinkets serve only to deny yourself the pleasure of my embrace." She cooed. His training said to never speak. Clear the mind. Never converse. So he obeyed. He had seen others fail. Ones who had spoken or who had panicked and jumped too early. To escape Her. Not that there was an escape. Only a delaying of the inevitable. She was eternal and patient and would see the heat death of the stars themselves. He shuddered because he knew she would keep Her promise to him. The runes changed. He jumped.
He emerged amongst a squad of man soliders. He fired but he was too close and several jumped out of the way as he tried to move his bulky weapon quickly enough. Snap shots hit his suit and warning runes flashed angrily across his visor. He saw one raise and aim at his face. He knew jumping early was likely death but he took the chance. He jumped. A quarter second after he vanished the lasbeam snapped through the space where his head had been. New runes appeared. Suit breech. He was exposed to the Warp. He could feel parts of his body freezing even as other parts was burning. His mouth filled with blood
and the agony was unreal. He could hear Her laughing. On his chest he bore a vessel to preserve his soul when he died. It would keep his essence from Her. He touched it and the haptics registered the crater in it. It was ruined.
He floated alone and the demons smelling blood swam through the haze and swarmed around him. He felt the talons pulling and prying open the suit around him and as it tore open he was fully exposed. The creatures of the Warp feasted on the meat but the essence went to Her. And She was right. He felt everything.
