The Doom

Author Information

I read the hunger and it inpired me to right this. long live the Hive Mind!

The Doom of a World

I wander. I wander through the whorls and blasts of the place I now know as "the warp". I tore this knowledge from the mind's of those who attack me. I am not aware of the struggle, for when I am near others, the hunger takes over. But I remember. Taking their souls, ripping it out of their body. Their mental shriek as i devour their very existence. I remember before, when i became aware. The creatures that called themselves "Eldar". They ignored me, attacked my brethren, until too late did the discover that I had begun to consume their ancestor's souls. I became as a god. Their war walkers, their titans, their Deity himself could not best me. But then, they changed. their minds became corrupt. then they came. the creatures who were not of true flesh and blood. they were drawn to my rampage, and my prey's sorrow. But soon, I learned that they came to win honor. The honor of defeating me! They all came, the Traitor, the Scientist, the Oracle, the Executioner, the Scholars, the Dancing One, the Tallyman, and the Changer. And one by one, they all fell beneath my wrath, their incinerated bodies sizzling on the ground. Then, the few remaining Eldar, though they could hardly be called that now, banded together and called a God of Chaos, Tzeentch. He sent a horde of creatures, more than the craft-world could hold. In irritation, i sent off a massive blast of energy, scouring the surface of the humongous ship clean. Then, i opened my own portal, and left the place called Malan'tai forever. And now I wander, and wander, when suddenly I feel the strings of fate pull. I trace them back to he called Tzeentch, and realize what the God of change is attempting. He wants me gone from the warp, so I can recreate the conditions of Malan'tai over and over again. Then the strings of fate twist and rip, and I am pulled through. I reappear in the midst of a battle. The massive ship of the Imperium attacking an Ork battle ship. Both sides stop as i come through, the Imperial ship detecting the warp gate, and the Gretchen with rebreathers on the outside of the Ork ship that are being used as a makeshift sensor array. Without wasting a moment, i cause the mind and bodies of all of the mortals to rupture. I locate Terra, and mentally calculate how long it will take to get there. Perhaps a decade, not including the stops I will have to make. But I lived for an eternity in the Warp, ten years is not much of a wait. By the time i get there, the splinter of the hive fleet that the humans foolishly think of as a hive fleet of it's own will also begin it's assault. Tzeentch wants sorrow? I will destroy the very heart of the imperium myself! And then, he is next. A sliver of the Hive Mind finds me, absorbs the information, ands sends it coursing through the synaptic webway. I look for the first time towards the closest planet. I see that the Imperial guard are foolishly trying to hold back an incursion by the great Hive Mind. The hunger boils up inside me, and I teleport directly to the planet's surface. Human minds and bodies are flavorless in comparison to the delicious Eldar, but they will do. For now.
