Well there is really only one place to start, the beggining! My brother and I were introduced into the hobby in 2010 by a close friend. He had a really nice ork army going and my brother found that facinating. He took the initiative to do some research and found an army that he really liked.....Imperial Gaurd. He started with a battle force which spiked my curiosity to maby get into the hobby. I thought at first it was a waist of time, but I was wrong! So after a few months, my brother set up this account on DakkaDakka, and posted a few things here and there, but was not very active with Dakka. So naturaly curious and wanting to try something new, I decided to give 40K a try. I watched a friend play my brother with Tyranids. My favorite army in the game. I grew to like there playing syle, and bought a battle force and a Hive tyrant. I was so excited when it arrived, I bulit everything in one day. Ever since then my brother and I decided to countinue expanding my army and his as well. Ahhh my favoret faction of all.... I spent a while getting my army into order and then after it was playable, I started painting, and painting and paintng...ect......and im still not done. Over all my luck with the tyranids has been very good. I have only lost 2 of 7 games, and was able to find lots models fairly well priced. I am still expanding and would like to go for aroung 4000 pts, but right now im half way there! Yeah! As for modeling aspect of my nids, I like taking them out of the GW poses and makeing my own. so far, I think i have been somewhat succseful with all of my conversions and such.
