Well here is my first article on Dakka. It's my introductory article so let's get on with that.
My real name is Kevin and I live in Seattle, Washington. I work in the office administration field and make just enough money doing that to get buy and occasionlly indulge in my favorite hobby which is miniature gaming and painting. I like Warhammer 40000 and Warhammer Fantasy the best. The background to the Games Workshop games has always intrigued me and the sheer variety of games makes them my favorite company.
I am currently playing an Ultramarines army anywhere from 1000 to 2500 points with the common number being about 1750. Most of my models are fully painted but I still have some work to do in order to get the army at the level I want it to be. I think that is a pretty common trait amongst all of us.
Within the Ultramarines I play second company which means that the upcoming spearhead really has me interested considering Sicarius is one of the main characters in the box. I just love the Ultramarines fluff and all of the fluff for 40k for that matter. I can't wait to get some of those Vangaurd with the jump packs into action, but that is in the future.
I thought I might list the models that I currently have instead of the models I want to get. Here is my Ultramarine collection...
- Marneus Calgar and Honor Gaurd
- 3 chaplains-1 chaplain on foot, one with a jump pack, one with terminator armor
- 3 captains-1 power weapon bolt pistol, 1 jump pack lighting claws, 1 terminator
- 1 librarian
- 1 command squad
- 5 shooty terminators
- 60 tactical marines
- 20 assault marines
- 5 bolter scouts
- 5 sniper rifle scouts
- 4 heavy bolter marines
- 4 lascannon marines
- 4 plasma cannon marines
- 6 missle launcher marines
- 4 bikes
- 3 landspeeders
- 2 dreadnoughts
- 2 vindicators
- 1 land raider
- 4 six rhino chasis set up as rhinos or 4 rhinos a razorback and a whirlwind
Not to bad for starters I think. I am going to post them in army profile when I get a full 1000 points done, which I think I do, soon. That will be followed with incremental pics as the next point levels get finished.
I am also building an orc army for fantasy with a Grimgor Ironhide theme. I am going to post an article about that as I want the process to be kind of interactive if you know what I mean. Thanks for reading and I hope to be here again soon.
