Time to update this bad boy! It's all so much EASIER now.

To create a link:

Copy and paste the link (or simply type it in to the text editor) like so:

http://www.dakkadakka.com (You do need the http:// part, don't leave that out!)

Then, select the text and click the URL button up at the top. Violá, you have a link! http://www.dakkadakka.com

If you want to be clever, and do something like this, all you have to do is select the text that you want to make into a link, click the URL button, and then after the [url part, add =http://www.whateveryouwanthere.com (and make sure there is still the closing bracket).

To link to an image:

Like the link procedure above, first you need to type in the URL for the link, like so:

http://www.angrybluebird.net/Warhammer Pics/tau1.jpg

Then, select the entire URL and click the IMG button at the top of the text editor. That's all you need to do!

If you are having problems, there are a few things to check for:
1. Make sure that you have a space before the opening bracket [ of a tag; for example, this[url won't work because the "s" in "this" abuts the bracket.
2. Make sure that the URL or IMG tag (the word in brackets) is on the same line as the link that follows.

Don't forget that you can always use the Attachments button at the bottom of the text editor to attach pictures directly to a post as well!

-=Edit=- Looks like anything starting with http:// is automatically turned into a link. That definitely makes it easier.

So are we using full BBC code then?

EDIT: Was it redundant to add 'code' after 'BBC'?

Yeah we are using about 90% of all major UBB codes. A few will have been left out for practical reasons but if you miss any then request their addition in the nuts and bolts forum.
