I think it's the 10pt deduction in points from the old codex with lots of extra ability! Rage - Fearless - Fear - S5 T5 3W
They're Beasts, so they move 12" and ignore terrain movementpenalties, which is great for an assault unit.
D6+2
Str 5 attacks each on the charge so a squad of 5 hits with between 15 and 45! attacks.
They can take marks and their random crazy chaos table is never going to hurt you.
3 wounds at toughness 5 takes alot of fire to put down.. mark of nurgle makes this even better!
Plus the are no longer mindless, so you can actually get them to do useful things.

He's made up of a old spawn metal body and head, three plastic spawn arms and a metal ogre maneater arm...

Mostly using old citadel red ink and dark green ink followed with baal red wash and ogryn flesh wash.
been tinkering with the idea of marking out the squads with different colours... although this is pretty easy to do and all15 might end up the same.
