If you're planning on attending Adepticon this year and you own a camera, we want to host your pictures of the convention here in the Dakka Gallery, which is absolutely free of charge to all members of Dakka.

Rather than putting your pictures up in a pesrsonal picture hosting service, where the only way people will see your pics is through a link or forum post, we want to create a central location on the internet for people who were unable to attend Adepticon this year to easily be able to find all sorts of great coverage of the amazing armies and dioramas that are a part of the Adepticon experience.

And it couldn't be easier! All you have to do when you return from Adepticon is to take the pictures off your camera and upload them using the Dakka Gallery uploader. Choose the option that they are a group of 'closely related' images and then give them all the tag 'Adepticon 2010'.

This will automatically put all Adepticon 2010 images into a single group that can be easily found by anyone visiting Dakka and make it the place to come for those searching the internet for Adepticon 2010 images. Adding additional tags to your images will help them be better searched and sorted in general, but at the very least all you need to do is give them the 'Adepticon 2010' tag.

Thanks in advance to everyone who participates in this effort, and if you have any questions regarding the process of uploading your images or 'tagging' them please post your question in this thread.

With your help we can make Dakka's coverage of Adepticon much better than it was last year (here's a few shots from last year's gallery to bring back some fond memories):

And as kind of an excuse Centurian99 and I both do quite a bit of work on Adepticon in general that when its finally over we totally shut down from even thinking about our team tournament stuff for a very long time.


Oh, and I didn't realize you guys were actually doing the DD2 this year...I wish I could have coordinated to get you guys the Dakka Dakka bowling shirts. Next year if you do it again as a team?

I think we're going with the Dakka Cafepress shirts this year. The Bowling shirts would be cool for next year, though you'd have to ask Reecius, Ozy, and WhiteDragon, too(that's assuming we keep the band together for next year).

ya I dropped out of the gladiator so I could enjoy the venue. I personally am doing the team and the 40k with classes intermingled.

Well see, the whole point is that there are already tons of gamers who go to Adepticon and lots of them even take pictures...but then for the most part those pictures either sit on their camera/computer or they only get displayed in a forum thread or someone's personal photo-share account.

If we can encourage everyone to instead take their pics and host them on Dakka, then we can have a really nice combined set of coverage pics of the event!

Ohh I get your point. I was just being silly. I am not going because I dont have a viable army this year. Plus since I just recently moved up here(abount an hour from Chicago) and dont really know any of the local gamers, I figures if you got me a "PressPass" that means I dont have to buy a ticket to wander around aimlessly taking pictures and looking like a goon, but a "Real Interwebz Reporter" makin frinds and interveiwing people!

I will bring a camera but ussually forget to take pictures by the middle of round 1
