After having to change my blown out tire in 15 degree weather I have to play my friend and team mate Andrew but the good part about it was he waited and we played into Lunch and had a really tough game so it wasn't all bad.

Mission Parameters
Terrain: Roll off for terrain, highest roll chooses 1st piece. Switch off deploying terrain, scattering the terrain 3d6 after each placement. Terrain may not be within 6” of the center of the table or 6” from another piece of terrain.

Deployment: Dawn of War

Game Length: At the end of turn 5 a player must roll a dice. On a 1-2 the game ends immediately, on a 3+ the game continues for turn 6. If this is the case a player will roll another dice at the end of turn 6. On a 1-3 the game ends where as a result of a 4+ the game continues for turn 7. The game ends immediately after turn 7.

Victory Conditions: Control more table quarters than your opponent. Follow page 90 of the rule book to hold an objective (Scoring unit Rules). Units must be fully in a table quarter in order to contest or control.

Special Rules: “Fog of War”: All units on the table are subject to Fog of War restrictions for turns 1 & 2. Follow the Night Fight rules on p95.

Battle Points:
20 Win
10 Draw
5 Loss

Bonus Modifiers: Even if you score all five modifiers only a +4 may ever be given!
+1 Point for killing a vehicle, monstrous creature, or HQ during Fog Of War. (Turn 1 or 2)
+1 Point if your highest VP unit(Squad/Vehicle/HQ/Monster) is still above 50% at the end of the game.
+1 Point if you have more kill points than your opponent.
+1 Point for having NO HQ slain during the course of battle.
+1 Point if you have a scoring unit in all four table quarters.


Deployment
I win the die roll and deploy 2 Troop Chimeras from the las plas veterans up at the half way point with the company command behind one of them. I outflank the Vendettas.

Andrew reserves everything with Alrahem's platoon and the Vendettas outflanking.


My Turn 1
Everything else except the rolls on. I roll everything towards the center except the Manticores which take the corner. I was thinking the terrain is impassable like it looks like but Andrew later tells me all hills are clear terrain. one las plas runs into the forest to take cover and the other gets into the empty HQ chimera. The company command squad gets in a chimera which backs up a bit and so does the empty chimera.

My Turn 2
Unfortunately I get all 3 Vendettas which all turbo boost when they come on. Manticores and the Chimeras closes to the edges pop smoke. Hoping Alrahem does not come on so he will not get many search light opportunities but...

Andrews Turn 2

Andrew gets 3 Veteran squad, 1 Hydra, 1 Vendetta, Manticore and Alrahem's Platoon on from reserves. Alrahem comes on from the left and gets out to use bring it down on my Manticore. One of Alrahem's Infantry squads comes on right behind Alrahem. The second Alrahem infantry squad and the Vendetta come on the right. Manticore hides in the corner and the hydra and 1 vets comes on on the left side while the 2 vets come on the right.

Alrahem issues bring it down on his own squad and they immobilize the manticore. Andrew search lights 2 of my Vendettas with the infantry Platoon Chimeras. His Vendetta shakes one of my Vendettas and the Hydra shakes a second of my Vendettas. bummer no cover save. Multi laser from Alrahem's Chimera stuns my platoon command chimera on the left. Multi laser from the infantry Chimera on the right stuns my empty Chimera. Melta gun from Alrahem's infantry squad on the left weapon destroys the rockets on the front manticore.





My turn 3

Both the shaken vendettas turbo to get a cover save. Last Vendetta moves to target Andrew's Vendetta. My Vendetta fires at Andrews Vendetta but wiffs, Manticore fires at the Vendetta but scatters off the board. Las plas veterans fire at Vendetta and shake it. Other Manticore roasts Alrahem's squad leaving him all by his lonesome with 1 wound. Other las plas veterans fire at the Hydra but miss. CCS Chimera takes side shots at Veteran Chimera but miss. Other Chimeras do nothing with their multi laser.

Andrew's Turn 3

Andrew gets both his remaining Vendettas, the Company Command and the last Hydra in from reserves. One Vendetta comes in on each side and the Company command comes in the middle. Hydra arrives in the corner.
Andrew's Veteran Chimeras on the right side move up to get side shots on mine. Alrahem moves to get a side shot at the Manticore.

Andrew's Manticore takes an indirect shot at my middle Vendetta getting 3 rockets one scatters off and blows up the Chimera to the side of it. Another rocket hits and stuns it. Andrew's Vendetta on the left then immobilizes the middle vendetta which is wrecked having turboed. The Veteran Chimeras on the right imobilize and take off the multi laser off the company command chimera. The right vendetta fires at my left most vendetta but fails to do anything between misses and cover saves. Alrahem shoots my Manticore and stuns it. Multi laser from Chimera on the left takes the heavy flamer off the my company command chimera. Hydras fire at the vendetta on the right but fail to do anything.




My Turn 4
My Vendettas move to target his. Manticore moves to burn Alrahem. Platoon command on the left moves up.

Right vendetta shoots at his right farmost vendetta and fails to score a hit. Closer vendetta fire's at Andrew's closer Vendetta and shakes it. The las plas vets in the forest fire at it too and destroy it. other las plas vets fire a single las at the far vendetta but miss. Manticore bbqs Alrahem. Platoon command and las plas chimeras fire at the vendetta on the left scoring a lucky glance shaking it.






Andrew's Turn 4
Andrew's Vendetta on the left turbos back into his deployment zone. His Veterans on the left advance one of them pvivoting for meltas to get in range. Company command moves up the center. His infantry in the right corner makes a difficult terrain to drive into the right corner to hide.

Meltas from the veteran squad immobilize and stun the right Vendetta which is down graded to shaken by extra armor. Manticore fires at my closer Vendetta and get 1 hit which blows off a weapon. His right vendetta fires at my close vendetta, taking off another weapon. The hydras also fire at the same vendetta immobilizing it, stunning it and taking off the last las cannon. His Company command fires at mine stunning their Chimera. His Chimera on the left shoots my Platoon Command Chimera and stuns it.



My Turn 5
platoon command get out of their chimera which was stunned to melta the infantry squad Chimera. Manticore on left tries to flame the chimera in front but fails to penetrate. other manticore fires a direct shot on the chimera in front scatters back onto the other manticore and stuns it. las plas vets fire on his vendetta on his deployment and destroy it. vets on the ground fire at his company command but fail to do anything. psyker chimera fires on his chimera showing its rear stunning it. las plas vets on the ground shoot his vendetta and shake it. Platoon command blow up the chimera in front of them and then assault the contents killing a couple but getting stuck in.


Andrew's Turn 5
His company command drive up to flame my vets on the ground. His company command tries to melta mine but only stun and blow off my flamer. Their chimera flames a few vets but they stay. His hydras try to take down my closer Vendetta but fail to do anything. Manticore gets 1 rocket vs the Veterans but scatters off. Multi laser from alrahem's empty chimera does nothing to my las plas vets. Other right chimera multi lasers try to eliminate the vets on the ground but miss and I make my cover. my platoon command kills off the rest of his infantry squad I assault but I roll a 1 for consolidation so can not make it onto his half





Loss for 5 points + 2 bonus as he controlled 2 corners to my none. He knocked out my mobility so could not turbo or move to contest.

MVP: las plas vets
las plas vets actually got to shoot and get the kill shots as the vendettas kept getting shaken or wiffing.

Oops it did nothing: psyker battle squad really did nothing but chuck its str 6 template at vehicles doing nothing as I could not get any vehicle kills other then the 2 vendettas and 1 chimera

Game Analysis:
He got the first shot with outflanking alrahem. Naybe should have taken second but I don't have alrahem to search light so would have been at a disadvantage and with his Hydras also made it tough. We both rolled bad for vehicle damage. The big mistake I made was putting the Manticores in the corner as I thought the terrain was impassible.


Really like Andrew's Army. Well painted and he has some elements I will be adapting such as Alrahem and Hydras.

Andrew won best overall so Congrats to him. He had to play another team mate round 5 Rich Stein.
