Ok this is a follow on from my previous post http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/401960.page#3408792 (first attempt at doing a large base)

ultimately threw down some transfers, did a tad more shading and some basic floor details,

again, any constructive criticisms and tips would be much appreciated

It's amazing how much that little bit you added really spruced the base up. Great job!

I like it. Nice and simple, but definitely gives a lot of character to the look of the model as a whole

Warhammer, one of a few games where Yahtzee is possible and not always a good thing

GENERATION 9: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

Thanks ToI, i do prefer the simple look for bases, I believe that the base it meant to complement the model, not be the focus.
Although everything has its place and i have seen some mind blowing bases, heh

Are you planning on doing similar style bases for all of your Valk/Vendetta models and the larger models in the army? I think that would be really sick

That is superb. I agree with pdawg that the modifications make a huge difference. You don't need to make the base the centre of attention, but people are pattern hungry beasts and if there is something that doesn't look quite right it draws the eye immediately.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Your base is only overshadowed by the fact you named your Valk "Bitches Be Crazy"

Looks fantastic.

Is that a gatorade cap with tips of sprues on it?

Close, it's a Coke' bottle cap, with sprues on it, the pipe lines are made with a a plastic Learners plates which you can get for free at the drivers schools etc. the cords are spare stereo cords, i didn't need the full length so i cut some off.

the circular thing at the end of on of the lines is the little plastic thing that is inside of every bottle cap, the big rectangular thing is just sprues, and the metal platform is the leftover part from an imperial guard tank, where you can choose a carrier or not etc.

it's all made with stuff i had on my computer table ha.
