In the Nine Hundred and Eleventh year of the 41st millennium the Grey Knights offered the Blood Angels a chance to strike against the Daemon Ka'Bandha. Upon completion of the mission all Blood Angels were to have their memories erased per the terms of the agreement. Commander Dante had agreed to this, but unbeknownst to all but Dante and the Council of Grand Masters Dante never had his memory wiped. On that day he witnessed the death of innocent Imperial citizens in order for the Grey Knights to purify themselves as they once had on the world of Van Horne, or so he thought. There was no bloodtide on that day and the innocents were killed for the pleasure of spilling blood. Most likely it was blood for the blood god.
With the battle complete and the day won Dante informed the Grand Masters of this occurrence. Instead of taking his warning they scoffed at him ignoring his message. Little did he know how this would affect him over 2 years later.
The Grey Knights contacted Commander Dante once more, but this time it was a Grand Master whom Dante had never spoken to before or since. He invited Dante and his Blood Angels to the planet Val Nobyl to deal with an increasingly aggravated populace whom were on the verge of turning from the Emperor. The message ended as suddenly as it had arrived. Dante suspected the instigators of the events which he had witnessed 2 years prior wished to silence him. So he would meet them; on the field of battle.
As the Blood Angels arrived to the planet they came into contact with forces of the Ultramarines, Space Wolves, and Blood Ravens whom were locked in combat in the orbit around the planet with the Imperial Cruisers of the Inquisition. Dante received messages from Ragnar of the Space Wolves who explained to him the situation. The Grand Master whom had contacted Dante had also contacted all of the other chapters present so that he could silence them forever. Ragnar did not take this lightly and would take the fight to them. In a desperate gamble the Space Marines dropped onto the planet to find it under the control of the Imperial Guard who were aiding the Grey Knight forces along with the foul Xenos Eldar.
Surprisingly the Dark Angels had been in the sector patrolling the area. Fearing retribution from the Grey Knights they joined them in the hopes of never being called heretics for the crimes of their chapter. The Eldar were about to make a deal with Inquisitor Valeria who was with the corrupted Grey Knights. Their corruption was unbeknownst to her as she decided to join in this battle. Small sections of the Ultramarines joined the Grey Knights against their own company. As the righteous forces of the Imperium landed on the ground a few Imperial Guard joined the ranks of the Space Marines aiding them with Chimeras and Valkyries.
For these heresies and more the enemies of the Imperium would be fought in battle and so it was that the forces of these armies met in battle.
Inquisitor Valeria wished to recover the corpses of a Genestealer cult which she had recently destroyed on Val Nobyl. Within a few moments Razorbacks were hit and a mighty Land Raider of the Space Wolves was destroyed leaving Ragnar exposed to incoming enemy fire, but he did not yield before such heresy. The Grey Knights moved their Paladins into the center bastion hoping to reclaim the corpse of the Genestealer who remained there. Ragnar suddenly had a few ideas about what to do with the Vortex Grenade hooked around his belt. A Valkyrie also fell to the fire of the heretics, but fortunately the Blood Angels inside survived and took a corpse hoping to keep it from the Inquisitor. Dante knew this wouldn't be enough to stop this pointless battle. He knew he had to confront the Grand Master who had sent him the "invitation." Samael moved forward towards Ragnar hoping to show him the error of his ways. The forces of the Dark Angel moved forward on their bikes to meet the Space Marines in battle.
Knowing the location of the Grand Master, Dante brought his Assault Marines in from behind the Imperial Guard forces in an attempt to take him into custody and bring him to justice. The Ultramarines with Dante came in on the left flank of the Dark Angels to destroy them and cut them off. A Stormraven with Terminators and a Furioso charged into battle to destroy the purifier squad placed in the center of the Imperial Guard formation. Blood Angels honor Guard joined them hoping to put an end to them. Fearing their allies would be destroyed the Ultramarines who were with the Eldar ran up to join their Grey Knight allies hoping to get close enough.
As the battle raged on Ragnar found the right spot on the bastion onto which to throw the Vortex Grenade. As bolter shells rang around him he threw it as far as he could. The grenade detonated on the bastion taking the Paladins and Genestealer inside with it. Ragnar left out a vicious howl as justice was done. Dante knew it was time to join the battle now. Moving in with the Drop Pods of the Space Wolves he came with 20 Assault Marines. They moved towards the ruins where the Grand Master was in the hopes of taking him down. The forces of the Blood Angels and the Ultramarines ravaged the Dark Angels and Imperial Guard reducing them to almost nothing. Suddenly the Legion of the Damned joined the fight from behind the Space Wolves and Blood Angels. The Ultramarines joined the fight and charged into the Legion hoping to buy Dante enough time to destroy the Grand Master.
The Stormraven fell and the Furioso had fallen only moments before it. Many Assault Marines fell to the shots of Guardsmen. Some feared the odds, but within moments the strength in their hearts was renewed even as they watched their Terminator Brothers be gunned down by the Purifier Squad led by Mordrak. The battle to reach the Grand Master only got more desperate as 9 Assault Marines fell to the damaging shells of a Leman Russ tank, but not before the Space Wolves, Ultramarines, and Blood Angels combined swept the area clean of Eldar and Imperial Guard.
With the battle at its climax Dante reached the Grand Master and raised his Axe in the air to slay him...
And so the day was won by the truly loyal to the Emperor.
((I hope everyone enjoys this. First Battle report, wanted to make it fluffy and there weren't many objectives were most of the Eldar were so I centered it on the Grand Master since he was on the objective in the back the whole time. Let me know what you all think.))
