Ok, so I've been wanting to make a P&M Blog for a bit but never really had the guts to do it. I decided that, to keep me honest and focused on finishing my army, I need a log of progress. I'd also like to get some opinions from the community and C&C, so I'm starting this log. It contains my halfway completed Grey Knight Army, I'll be putting up more pictures as I finish more models.

Currently, my mostly completed models are 2x Strike Squads, 4x Terminators/Paladins, a Rhino, and a Dreadnought. WIPs consist of a Godhammer-pattern Landraider, 5 Terminators/Paladins, and a FW Chaplain Dreadnought (Counts as regular Dreadnought).

I have a lot of work to do but I figured I'd post here to get some feedback on how my painting skills are developing (I had absolutely zero skill or interest in painting pre-40k). Also included is the torso armor of one of my counts as Draigowing Pre-Heresy Thousand Sons army. They are going to be a Draigowing for now because it keeps the army cheap and effective, but will eventually flesh out into a full-fledge army. I have a FW Thousand Sons Dreadnought for this project too.

Hope you all have fun trashing my terrible paint skills, cheers!

This is the first model I officially completed for my Grey Knights, this model and the rest of the First Company Strike Squad use a darker armor pattern than the rest of the models.

Terminator/Paladin Justicar

RhinoBack (not sure which to use it for, so I use it for both at the moment.)

Custom Built Autocannon

Converted Psyfleman Dread

Completed Autocannon Dread

My newest model, trying out a slightly lighter paint scheme, trying to improve my work.

Blurry photo of my upcoming project, the last surviving loyalist members of the Thousand Sons, a Pre-Heresy theme army.

I'll be updating this weekly at the least, hopefully. Thanks for looking!

Got some more images uploaded, I know the quality is bad but all the stuff I'm putting up is very much WIP. 4-model Terminator Squad (Sold the Apothecary to a friend), with a really terribad Finecast Librarian. He will be taking a Simple Green bath soon, methinks. Also included my next Dreadnought, a Forge World Chaplain Dread, which I got from a friend, as well as my Pre-Heresy Dread, from the Thousand Sons Chaos line. Will do it up in red/gold soon.

First Terminator Squad, sans a fifth member. Also Failbrarian.

Closer view of Hammerdude, who I think is one of my better paintjobs. Also Pointing Badass in the back.

View of my Blue Nemesis Weapon build. Doing red Nemesis Weapons for my First Company models, blue for everything else.

Chappy needs some arms, time to buy another Aegis Defense Line..... /wrist

And another peek at the Thousand Sons army, my Dreadnought from Forgeworld. Will be doing this up in the red/gold, and greenstuffing the daemon head out of the picture...not really sure the best way to pull that off though, so I'm open to suggestions.

In case its not painfully obvious, the Librarian was the first Finecast models I've done, and one of my first models for my Grey Knights period. I'm really dissatisfied with it and will likely be bathing it in Simple Green in a week or so. Is this safe for Finecast? Oh well, can't hurt I suppose...

Cheers, thanks for looking.

Edit: Because everything else is probably pretty boring, here is a picture of my roommate's dog, being bored as hell while we paint. Isn't he just GD adorable?

Out.

Been a minute since my last update, but I've been busy painting the rest of my Paladins.

Currently have 8 fully painted Terminators/Paladins, and 12 Strike Squad Knights.

I also started an Inqusitor conversion that I'm liking the looks of, its made from the Chaos Sorceror blister, and I can't wait for it to be finished. Cheers!

Thanks! He's coming along. My first really converted model. I'm enjoying it more than I thought...kind of addicting actually, lol. As for the husky...he's awesome but a pain in the rear...they're too energetic, haha.

Here's the latest progress, I got him primed and got a good solid start on painting...the first priming coat didn't cover that little spot of green stuff on his neck, but its been fixed.

Huzzah! Completed! I just need to glaze the visor and draw on the Purity Seal script, then we're gone. C&C Really needed here, its my first conversion! Sorry about the bad quality pictures, I don't have a lightbox yet, nor a good camera.

Getting to work on my Pre-Heresy Dread, only I'm not sure about what to do with the daemon head on the Autocannon. Thoughts?

Priming and Painting to come, hopefully within the week.

More updates,

I've primed and started painting my 1K Sons Dread, in Pre-Heresy colors. Thinking of doing the center plate and left knee plate either a blue/grey (Shadow Grey or Post-Rubric 1K Sons colors), or white. Need some suggestions on that. Aside from the dread, I also uploaded a final shot of my Psyker Inquisitor...unfortunately my lightbox is currently under construction, so bad pictures are bad. Hope the Dakka adjuster toned down on the saturation, because I couldn't get a decent shot. Finally, I also included some of my Terminators in various states of completion. Hopefully next week I'll be done with the Terminators and Dreadnought, and can move on to bigger and better things!

Thanks for any C&C and thanks for your time!

- H

Very quick update, no new pics. Still working on the dread and finishing up the other 3 terminators, hoping to have them done in the next week and a half.

Bought a Draigo Failcast model today...surprisingly the model is about 100x better than the Librarian I bought when they were first released. Only need to call GW to replace 2 pieces. As soon as they come, I'm going to be resuming airbrushing and painting him up.

Total model count will be:

Inquisitor
Librarian
Draigo
9 Terminators
10 Strike Squad
1 Grey knight Dread
1 Thousand Sons Dread
1 Rhino
1 Land Raider (Put together but needs more McGubbins to make it look Grey Knight-y before I paint it up.)

Peace,

-H
