My Lords, I have yet again compiled a report of a faction in the Eastern Fringe little is known of, and yet they have done so much in spite of a hurdle to overcome. I am speaking of the mysterious and yet so familiar concept of a Space Marine Chapter. Now from reports and data and picts I have assembled, I am suspecting that the Dragons Errant have other secrets hidden away as they have been going out on missions more, and yet they have ceased as they must recuperate from recent activity, some of which were clashes with forces of the Ordos themselves! Like all chapters, they seek recruits from worlds that they are near, this means that for the most part, they have exclusively been taking fresh trainees from the Khadrovian Konfederacy worlds. My guess that was later found to be right, was that they prefer candidates from harsh and cold worlds to toughen up the raw recruits and help them survive the trials that the Dragons errant put them through. The Dragons Errant seem to only go into the heat when they work at their own forges or those of the tech marines on-board ship.(Yes, this shows some sort of link to the Salamanders chapter, but that is all there is, as the group are ship based they have not developed the obsidian skin or the red eyes of that well known and yet plagued chapter.

The symbol of the Dragons Errant is that of a reptilian dragon head with a wing attached to the back of the head. This may be an indication of their wandering crusade like nature, or that they have wandered off the main path, or both.

I have ascertained that while the main coloration of the Dragons Errant is Regal Blue with Shadow Gray patterning, adorned with gold trims and icons, and slight red marks, they do have a strange group that is so odd for them the Crimson Captain and his Squad Crimson, these men I will discuss later. I have also seen golden armor as if the commander were an Inquisitor lord or had earned some right to be as ostentatious as possible in his years and ranking. This is mainly Chapter Masters and high captains. Within the scope of this report, I shall start with several of their personalities amongst the command echelons of the Dragons Errant. I shall also strive to work on other aspects and some that will be disturbing as well as some that are leading me to be disturbed by the flow of the data.

Having noted the similarity to the Salamanders, these Marines have a situation and that they went on a crusade to make their knowledge known to other marine chapters that may have lead to another schism. The Dragons Errant have a issue of stable mutations, yes, they have some sort of taint in their Gene-Seed that is liable to show up in their first century of service or not. This mutation's most notable symptom is a series of cranial ridges and plates that appear these go so far as to also deform the brow of the afflicted marine. Another less apparent symptoms are a set of sharp teeth and no more normally flat edged teeth, and the eyes, they have the slit to wide open pupil of a reptile in them once this shows up. These become known as "The Afflicted" and can be formed into devastating attack units as their aggression is higher as well as their skills honed at this time and their reflexes at their peak.

Despite this, the Dragons Errant still see themselves as needing to carry the fight for the Emperor, as they still uphold fealty to Him on Earth. They did however attempt to expose the tampering of Gene-Seed to other Marines by raiding several labs where further research was being carried out, they were stopped at one point when the grey Knights destroyed all evidence before the Ultramarines/Space Wolves and Dark Angels could see it. This has lead to them attempting to get other Marines to investigate for themselves then as they felt that seeing evidence not handled by the Dragons errant would be more apt to let them see it for what it is. I strongly urge that this not happen, and that agents be dispatched to snuff out such curiosity.

I have also noted that the Dragons Errant are loyal to the Emperor, so while their clashes with Imperial units have not always gone so well for them, the Dragons Errant have a sterling service at crushing Xenos, they have done excellent work against Necrons, Tyranids, Orks and Tau, they have also managed to do much against the Eldar kins. Their warships make a habit for the most part of coasting on silent running into a system, gliding in the shadows before activating systems and attacking. They like to call it "striking from the shadows" and their ships are varied and strange in their designs, but that is for a later part.

I did promise to make this a report about certain key figures amongst them what I discovered was a plethora of commanders to the point that I have even had clashing reports of different named chapter masters serving at the same time, or rather the captains of Grand Companies as it were.

I shall begin however with the one I did track down, and in disguises, and with the aid of servo skull pict' 'corders managed to discover some elements of the Master Behamorr a powerful and dangerous man if you can truly call a Marine a man. From what I have gathered, Behamorr is a strong leader with a personality that makes his commanders feel both at ease and respectful. He brooks no silliness or squabbling amongst his commanders, and at one point, there were so many large and smaller ships about the system they met a major meeting at that I wonder if chapter master is the right title for him. At his designs, the different Dragon Errant wings go forth to do their rounds and watch for Xenos attacks or other crimes. Rarely will he allow a commander to not respond to a call for help. I have also noted that Behamorr has had an arm lost and replaced by a bionic one, yet he is the oldest and most difficult to pin down of the Dragons Errant. I feel I could devote more time on just discovering all of his secrets alone! One thing is clear, although he has the right to gild his armor, he has chosen to stay at the normal colors of the Dragons Errant, and has had a large Dragon head crest placed on his shoulder. Behamorr is looked up to as he shows no outward signs of the taint in his gene-seed matrix and that has been a notable and interesting thing.

I suspect that as the Dragons errant wander about they will do their duty against Xenos if left to their own devices, but I wonder if Behamorr is done with attempting to expose the gene-seed tampering? if he does somehow manage to succeed, what would that do for the Imperium other than start a new war, one where space marines choose again to serve the empire or tear it apart? But Behamorr has others to council him, he has many chaplains in his forces and these do speak with him often.

Most notable is the one known as chaplain Pulso Baculo, chaplain Baculo is armed more for close combat as he bears not only his crozius, but a power-fist His ideology is that there are different xenos, so use different weapons for the right one! He seems more intent on the exoneration of the Dragons Errant by continued eradication of the Xenos scum and to let the gene-seed issue lay for now. It is this reason that Behamorr has had the Dragons Errant fleets withdrawn seeking out xenos and leaving any further raids on gene labs alone for now. It is the counsel and guidance that Baculo provides that has reigned in any wild attempts by Behamorr regarding the Inquisition and that he has used other chapter's downfalls as examples of where not to go or how to do things regarding such actions.

I shall add further personalities to this report, there is a range of captains chaplains and librarians as well as a few Sgts to be highlighted here.

Another long time commander of the dragons errant unafflicted by the gene-seed corruption is Captain Saurenok. As far as the dragons Errant are concerned he is their poster boy for Marine perfection and is the one they send out on more diplomatic forays as they make negotiations with worlds and colonies. His appearance as you can see is merely marred by a bionic on the right eye as he did lose that in a major fight with a Tyranid Hive Tyrant where the both he and it knocked each other out cold! Of course having the Dragons Errant win that battle overall, they slew the monster and revived the captain, his eye gone, the replaced it with that system. Whilst on the one hand he is charming, and also careful in his speeches, make no mistake, I have found that according to his records, that he can fight like the Marine Captain he is. He is skilled in all of the weapons of the Dragon's arsenal, but seems to prefer the relic blade known as "Sear fang" and a storm shield for close in personal combat and a classic bolt pistol for shooting if need be. But for the most part, the good captain prefers melee overall as he can stare his enemy in the eye as opposed to shooting him, even if it be a 'Nid. Captain Saurenok has mostly fought Tyranids, Necrons, and Orks face to face. he has thus far had the rare pleasure of cutting down a Dark Eldar leader in single combat.

as you have long neglected your marines it is quite a revelation (probably againas i seem to have forgotten about it^^) that they have that taint in their gene seed...

truly interesting! and might i add... i thinki you should redo your minis... you are far better now then back then...save the chaplain...as i think he looks already good as is^^

oh and nice conversion on the captain... something to take in mind for when you have said aobr model more than once^^

My Lords, I return with the information on a Captain Khar' Dus, His mutations emerged and have made him angered at what he has perceived as a weakness of the spirit. This has driven the man to fuel an anger against himself to the point he has decided to take it out on all Xenos and Mutant heretics alike! When he leads his men into combat, he is as a man possessed, he slams into the enemy, his paired lightning Claws slashing every way until there is little left but a lingering cloud of blood mist where they once stood. After which he will go and spend hours after a mission in the chapels attempting to cleanse himself further with prayers and counsel from the Chaplains. His ferocious ways have left him with a bionic implant for a left eye as that was destroyed by an Ork choppa long ago, and he has since driven himself to slay as many xenos as he can once he takes the field. In War Council, he advocates aggressive lightning quick attacks against the enemy to smash them and shatter their lines.

Another notable member od the dragons errant is Chaplain Euphistes, he has a fiery rhetoric to whip the Marines under his care into a righteous rage and zeal for slaying the enemies of the Emperor like few others, and leads by example wielding his crozius and a sword of the Righteous as he wades into the enemy reciting his litanies of battle and hatred against the enemies. His acts of dual wielding powered weapons makes him a formidable foe to any opponent, and he is well protected by both his Rosarius, and his fervent zeal. It Euphistes who will also lead the packs of the most afflicted into battle when he can to better direct their rage and self loathing into a killing force against which few Xenos or others can withstand.

Just as intense with the rhetoric of a chaplain, but more humble in his chosen attire, as werll as sticking to watching over the Dragons errant under him, Chaplain Terminius will ride to battle with the regular tactical squads or foot soldiers who will walk and charge into battle. His armor is basic, as are his weapons load out as he prefers simple acts to show the strength of his faith. He has accomplished some very notable kills especially a Ork warboss during a major incursion of the Greenskins.

A man who has yet to show any of the affliction is Sargent Sienaris, who has lead his squad to enough victories that he is being eyed for captain-hood amongst the dragons Errant. It shall be interesting to see how this steadfast squad leader will do as a captain and having to pick a new weapon to help show his new office once he gets there. He keeps a cool head at all times and is a methodical tactician.

Well my Lords, I have seen that few Marine forces operate with out Librarians, and the dragons Errant do have them, and their top Librarian is named Akkadarus. This one has been recorded doing all manner of powers, and is a rar Librarian indeed! Based upon the vid captures my infomants forwarded, the man is uncanny and so potent that he has been able to rapidly fire off several abilities in short order, and in some cases, managed to do some effective spells, and still used his force weapon to take down a massive foe in one good hit! The Picture below shows him wearing the blue armor of any Librarian, but with the adornments of Dragon Errant heraldry and robes. His left shoulder is the darker blue of the Dragons Errant and has the winged dragon head to go with it.

Another afflicted captain who has excelled in the ranks of the Dragons errant is Brother Captain Nimus. This fighting leader has chosen to master the dual sword techniques of several world' and has studied with the teaching masters of said worlds. He has brought the mixed techniques to make his own dual sword style and is a most formidable opponent with his power swords ablaze and swirling about like some maelstrom of energy as he spins and leaps, slashing at one point, blocking another, and thrusting the points into an enemy to do so, his favorite finish seems to be the backhanded swipe that cleaves an opponent's head from their neck.

The Flying Apothecary, part of the Squad Crimson, his adornments of that unit are the toes of his boots, representing the standing in the blood of his charges as he performs emergency surgery. As well as his upper arms armor, to signify he is always mired in his work. He wields the most iconic weapon, the power weapon the Dragons Errant label the "spinning fangs" sword.

Now the fleets need someone to coordinate and relay the Master's orders to them, and that man is brother Captain Arbast. He does spend much time aboard the fleet command HQ ship, but when he does fight, either to repel boarders, board an enemy ship, or land and fight to stay honed as any Marine officer, he wields his favorite weapon, The mighty thunder hammer with which he dispenses his wrath to the enemies through. He has no obvious affliction but for his teeth, hence the grim look on his worn and scarred face face.

i never new it was possible to have jetpacked apothecaries...? or is that a houeserule? i see that could be quite effective in game as the assault marines are mostly in CC anyway so an extra save is always apreciated i guess...

also i like the story about nimus... his dual sword tech and how he achieved it...

where did you get the arbast model by the way? that pose is pretty badass as you can be...

as for sergant sienaris... will he see promotion or is that just the fluff around his character?

anyway that was a good read! specially liked the captain khar´dus... that man sure has some issues^^

Nimus looked to bad-ass to NOT have a kick-ass back story.

Arbast is a metal from the Apocalypse range "Masters of the Chapter" formation set. Each is a captain in their own right, and as you saw the fleet captain, there is one for scouts, weapons, and watch.(Guards)

I may promote him one day, thus far he has done stellar work leading a squad.

Ah, Khar' Dus! Many an enemy has fallen to his lightning claw whirl wind attacks! When I roll his dice, I image him as a video game character from a fight game like the famous ones, but with claws crackling and him going all crazy.

oh it needs to be only a jpeg or gif for that matter... how are these tech frames called in english in games and fluff? i used " scree" and "frame" and "video" and such phrases...also in combination with sci fi and 40k... but evrything yileded no good results...

Frames for photoshop was my search method and that tutorial was second thing on the list
