Even though ive got DV, i wanted to get back into painting after a year or so away, so went back in with the nids to start with.
Figured a blog would keep me going again as i tend to stop painting and just convert, which leaves me with a sea of plastic and resin (and some metal)

But pictures speak louder than words.

Flyrant (Base needs to be painted and wing spined need a highlight then finished)

Theres a start anyway, pics are a tad grainy due to lighting, but i will fix it!
Got a nice range of things to pick away at (10k of nids) so ill try to get going as much as i can on this one.
Also might throw in some updates from the DV box as i go, but for now, enjoy.

Childe, i got bored of the trademark nid colours so wanted something different

Can either run swarm heavy or just nasty heavy since i have 6 thropes, 6 hive guards, 3 lictors and a doom
Can now run all of those in 1 game!

Funny thing is, if we had the points we could now run 18 fex's lol.

Say hide and wings on princes and bare bones thirsters i think i could do it in 2,500, but i need 4 cheap troops.

Note on thin plastic glue (GW)
This stuff is pure gak.
This is now the 4th one ive had that, rather than glueing the plastic together, it simply crystalises on it and forms a super weak joint that a breeze would make fall apart.

Thought i had just had bad luck with it, but the ogre batallion i put together last week is now in pieces as ive tried to pick them up.
Means i need to scrape out all the crap glue and start again -_-
From now on, only thick plastic glue.

1st, just a few pics of the nids i could cram onto a shelf.

Still needs a ton doing to it and its only about 30% done, but he is getting there slowly.

well i use revell plastic glue atm ever since klaus suggested that to me... and for scratchbuilding i use testors plastic glue... dave swears on that stuff... so i got the real thing too... and it works like a charm

I may go back to testors.
I only stopped buying it because a shop about 200 yards from me sells the GW one.
I had to order testors one and it takes bloody ages to arrive

Also, dusted off the daemons and they may be making a show soon

Those horms are just painted khemri brown at the moment lol.
Will be washed with devlin, highlighted khemri, bleached bone and then skull white.

The nids are growing, from what i can see, i need 2.5 more free shelves to fit them all on.

Seems these termigants are going to go the same way.

So, thats where im at so far.
A few need masks done.
All of them need some damage and bullet holes / scratches etc.
Will also do a bit of sculpting work as they need alot more detail on them.

This is the CC unit for now.
Want to get a shooty unit together aswell, so looking into heavy stubbers / autocannons since most other things are a bit too small for them :(
