Night Fighting is not in effect turn 1.
I win the roll off to deploy and take first turn. I deploy zombies, centrally, in box formation around the two units of Death Guard(referred to as
DG from here on). The zombies are two ranks thick on the front, and single rank on the side. The Spawn sit on the right side of the box. All units of Oblits hide in ruins along the deployment edge on either side.
He also deploys centrally, the
LR in the middle with a razor on each side, one dread on each side spaced further apart. He attempts to steal but rolls a 1.
Turn 1
DG
All bodies move 6" forward, the Spawn jet up 12 into a forest for cover and assault positioning. The oblits explode 1 razor and heavily damage the other, 1 hull point down and stunned. The strike unit passed morale and wasnt pinned.
GK
He moves the
LR up and deploys the other strike unit. In his shooting phase he manages to kill an oblit and a few zombies.
Turn 2
DG
Both HellTurkeys fly on board. I deploy one directly in front of the
LR front assault ramp and the other blocking a dread on the right. All bodies move up 6". I begin to spread the zombies out a bit longer. I also place the spawn 1" away from the
LR's right assault ramp door. The oblits manage to take out a dred, the other razor, and immobilize the last dred. The HellTurkies wipe out one strike unit and send the other running for the hills with only two members left.
GK
His Storm Chicken flys on and shoots some stuff. His
LR scoots back 6" and the Terminator unit hops out. Shooting phase is pretty weak. I think he kills a
DG, a few zombies, wrecks a HellTurkey, glances the other, and a Spawn. He assaults the Spawn with his Termies and loses combat by 2. They stay locked in.
Turn 3
DG
The remaining HellTurkey Vector Strikes the Storm Chicken and accomplishes nothing. I surround the objective, moving the zombies into the surrounding forests while a
DG unit picks up the relic. I do alot of shooting at the Chicken and nothing happens, he dodges a bunch of shots. In assault the Spawn manage to kill another terminator and lose one themselves. They stay locked.
GK
He goes into Chicken hover mode and drops his Paladin death star off. He shoots a bunch more and kills some zombies. My
DG armor rolls are working nicely. The way ive got my zombies surrounding the objective makes it impossible for him to assault my
DG relic holding unit. We draw with zero wounds in the spawn combat.
Turn 4
DG
The relic unit backs off. I prepare a multi zombie unit charge on his Paladin unit. The oblits keep moving up. I dump all the plasma I have in the army into the Paladin unit and kill every paladin off and wound the inquisitor. I then multiassault that unit and swat harmlessly at them.

The spawns manage to kill another guy off. He passes moral and stays locked.
GK
He moves the Chicken into position to fire upon the Relic unit. The
LR remains stationary to fire more shots. His shooting doesnt do much. An oblit and Typhus take a wound.
Turn 5 (Night Fight is on)
The HellTurkey comes back on, vector strikes the Chicken, does nothing to it, then lights the remaining strikes on fire to finish them off. He also regained a Hull Point the previous turn. Lots of shooting, the Chicken saves everything, and twin linked meltas fail to hit the
LR. The oblits assault the Chicken(still in hover mode) and punch it to death. I finish off the last terminator in the spawn combat and harmlessly swat with the Zombies. At this point the
GK player concedes the game. There's no way for him to win. His units will never fight out of the zombie combat in time and the
LR is the only thing left standing other than a dred thats facing the wrong direction.
All in all a good game. We both had some pretty epic rolls, so no complaints there. Spawn with
MoN rock! Even with Hammer Hand he just couldnt deal damage to the spawn. Such a great unit. Oblits are. . .well . . .Oblits. I miss fearless, but whatever. The Bale flamers worked wonders. The zombies worked very well as meat shields.
