I knew I remembered this from somewhere

Could you update us on how the first campaign turned out, for those who didn't follow it on KS (like me ) after it was over? Did you have any problems with fulfillment? Is your laser cutter working with no problems? Have you built up an inventory of terrain or do you cut-on-demand?

Well as you heard from Lords2001 and he was happy, in fact I had no complaints at all. The laser got held up in customs so I did get started later than I wanted but I worked 7 days a week to make sure that everyone got their pledges in a reasonable time. At the moment I cut on demand and don't really carry any inventory, the largest pledges only took 2-3 days to get done which showed me that I can pretty much count on a weeks turn around time unless things get really crazy, And the laser is running great.

Next up is Kickstarter 2 will I'll be introducing new designs and styles of buildings, as well as some wall, and bridges. Soon after that is over the web store will launch where people will be able to order anything that was available on the first Kickstarter, plus additional pieces to add to their existing kits. After pledges from KS2 are fulfilled then those designs will be available on the website.

Also, I'm very customer focused, after all it's not about what I want it's about what you want. So if you have any ideas for things that you would like to see just let me know and I'll see what I can do. Chances are if you want other people will as well

Any other questions just ask!

Here's a preview of one of the buildings that will be available on the next Kickstarter, a steampunk warehouse and it's ruined version.

Warehouse looks good, but the ruined version looks a bit... clean?

Almost like you took a laser and sliced neat, giant holes out of a building

The comments section seems to reflect everyone was happy with what they got.

I hope to get in on the second one, looks like a really neat product.

Yeah I'm still working on finding a balance for making stuff look ruined. Problem is if you make it too jagged it looks cartoonish, and if you make it rough it takes the laser longer to cut it, and then when you step back to a typical table leve arms length you can't really tell that its rough. One day I'm sure I'll find that happy medium

I doubt it's anything a minute with a cutting disc'd dremel too can't fix, as far as roughing up the edges a little.

That's a very good point. MDF is super easy to work with, plus a good paint job helps too

Here's the ruined version:

Here's a steampunk bridge that I did and a friend of mine painted. The middle section of the bridge is removable and comes with 3 different length sections.

New update on one of the Steampunk buildings from the Impudent Mortal Facebook page

The 10th Can't come fast enough for me personally, every new announcement gets me more excited for this.

Also Walt is a standup guy, Had a recent discussion with him about designing some things for a Gotham City table I'm working on. His customer service is second to none.

Thanks!

I'm curious why did you think it I was a spam bot?

I got the 'L' and 'T' versions of the Steampunk 2 style done this weekend.

I had a great experience with the first Kickstarter. There was a bit of a delay, but nothing overly dramatic and he kept everyone updated throughout. It was a very pleasant experience.

That Factory looks sweet... what is the footprint on it? 10'' X 10''?

The only minor gripe I have with the buildings is just me. Your instructions are clear and easy to follow (on youtube) but I got tired of piecing them together all the time so I eventually just glued them in one configuration. Which is cool because Walt actually sends you smaller roof sections with the big buildings so you can make 2 smaller ones if you so wish, as well as many flooring options.

There will be more steampunk stuff but nothing quite like the warehouse. HOWEVER... I do have plans for a post apocalyptic line of terrain, it will be available either on KS3 or KS4 (Yes, I have that many Kickstarters already planed, no I don't have a time line yet because it depends on how long it takes to get the pledges out)

Yes

Please do bring up your gripes, finding out the negatives is one of the best ways for me to adjust my product line to fit your needs, in fact I'd like to take a moment and address that issue.

You're not the only one, several people ended up just gluing them all together, which after building all of them myself I can understand. When I started all this I saw there were a fair number of companies making laser terrain, so I wanted to come up with something that no one else was offering. My personal issue with any terrain is that once I use it a few time I want something different I guess you could say I have terrain ADD which also probably explains why I got into making my own. So for me 'terrain legos' so to say seemed to be the perfect solution to both issues.

However, as you know from backing my first Kickstarter I'm all about customer opinions / requests. After all you guys are the ones buying it so it only makes sense that I listen to you, right? After hearing about people gluing everything together I figured for this next KS I would give you the option of the same terrain with or without the puzzle pieces, with no difference in cost between the two and see which goes over better.

Ok... stepping off the soap box now and on with some new pictures

The Tudor design from the first KS was pretty popular so I figured it was only right if I did a Tudor 2
