I'm not a great painter. ( which will be obvious when you see the pictures).

I wanted my Rebs to be more of a rag tap group than the mantic paint scheme. And use this to practice painting some freehand shapes and writing.

The connecting feature with the models is the mostly black armour and the brown coats on two of the humans.

Group shot

Humans -

The commander I painted with Miranda Lawson from mass effect as inspiration. White body suit with black detailing.
Human in the brown coat hasn't had much done.
Last human has the most free hand suff on him. That's supposed to be a ace of spades on his knee

close up on beards freehand

Grogans

One is a Convict rescued from the dreadball extreme leagues. I've done some face tattoos and tried to tattoo the dreadball extreme symbol on his shoulder.( didn't come out a swell as I'd hoped.
The other one I painted to look like he's borrowed some enforcer chest armour.

Dreadball x tattoo

I'll post up individual pics of the others later

My idea for these were that they are sporting board shorts with armour chucked on top when they need to go to work.
Both have a lot of chequered details and yes that's a sad face on the running one.

Sorak and teraton

Not much freehand done on these. I painted the teraton with some yellow stripes like the Bruce lee black and yellow jumpsuit.

Survey drones

One(birdy) is painted silver to look a little cylony
The other (bumble bee), takes inspiration from transformers.

Don't sell yourself short, think you've done a good job with these. Neat brushwork and good choice of complementing colours, and you obviously have a steady hand with that free-hand (love the bumblebee and Cylon fliers!)

Think the red cloaks tie them together as well, you can go for slightly different paint-schemes but they still have that unifying element.

These are amazing. Stunning work!
How long did it take you to clean mold lines?
I don't think I see any jumping out.
