Subject: [EF] - Oddified's Execution Force stuff - The Terror of Yule
Picked it up on Saturday and after a couple of games I must admit I absolutely love it. It's very thematic yet, as most have noted, eh... limited. Rather than just accept it as the way of things I have decided to come up with additional rules to stretch out it's re-playability as much as possible. I hope people might be interested in my take on this and TBH I could do with some help getting the balance right. Anyone up for playtesting?
Obviously the game, setting, images and concepts are GW's IP/Copyright. I have not connection to them at all and I'm doing this for personal enjoyment only, perhaps I may even buy more miniatures because of it... I'll host any files on my own blog and just post mock ups here if the Admins are okay with it?
Playing A Versus Game V.1 available Here This allows a player to take control of the Renegades within the framework of the existing game. Effectively turns a 1-4 player game into a 1-5 player.
Crimson Slaughter Expansion v.1 available here There are some nice miniatures in Dark Vengeance and I thought it was a shame that they were not being hunted by assassins either. With that in mind I have expanded the pool of cards for renegade side of Execution Force to include additional events and profiles for some of the other forces at their disposal. I advise that people start by adding in the additional cultist and see how they go. The flamer rules in particular can cause problems for the assassins. Full card count, layouts and the actual printable versions are available from the link above.
Chaos Champions V.1 available here The force sent to stop Lord Drask was not comprised of assassins but mighty chaos champions dispatched by Abaddon himself! This small set of cards allows you to play a red on red game where only Chaos can prevail as only Chaos is present. Use the chosen warriors of the four gods to stop the ritual as the great despoiler has commanded. Printable versions are available from the link above.
The Terror of Yule V.1 available here Attracted to the Ritual of Lord Drask the Terror of Yule is a foul entity from the dark past of Terra. A deceptive shadow of the Emperor of Mankind it lures followers with promises of gifts and eternal warmth in it's service. Do not be fooled! Printable versions are available from the link above.

This is a mock up only, got to get the text right...
All of these cards are at the first pass so the stats and abilities may/will change.
After this I have some ideas for a few scenarios with new races. first up will be Orks...

Okay then... The first pass at the Crimson Slaughter Expansion has been posted up. Given the file sizes I've linked it via my blog, I hope that's not inconvenient. I'd love to get some feedback on how this plays... In summary then;
6 Additional Renegade profiles (pictures of the characters on them)
12 Event cards associated with the new renegades (red title on black bar)
2 Rule cards (black title on red bar)
Examples of the cards;
I've edited the original post to include the link.

Mission: Assassinate Grimskrap Snaga, a Deathskull Bigmek, before he activates the newest element of his Great Gargant.
This will be a multi level mission where each board in the game is a separate level within the structure of the gargant. Opponents will be skewed towards Meks together with the Ork and Grot crew. Draft version of the boss card is below.
Work is going well on the Ork mission at the moment but I'd like to let you all know of another two missions I've started work on.
1. The Cleansing of His Beneficent Wrath This is a Blue-on-Blue mission seeing the four Assassins being tasked with the destruction of an Inquisitor and her entire retinue. It will take place aboard Inquisitor Radha's vessel and I'm trying to put in a few options on how the players can accomplish the mission. sabotage the warp engines, disable the Gellar field or simply plough through the henchmen... I'm also trying to figure out the best way of introducing the inquisitors team. Some will be encountered in rooms and some, mostly the low level ones, will be patrolling. Some Example cards
2. Rebirth of a Phoenix An Eldar Farseer has located the remains of a Phoenix lord and the Execution force is being sent to prevent the successful reoccupation of the armoured suit. This is still in the planning stage but I hope to crack the problem of the use of "automated" psychic powers beyond simple event cards. That will allow the farseer and his warlocks to be much more of a threat. The opposition will be predominately guardians supported by Rangers, Wraithguard and a loose smattering of aspect warriors. I hope to include cards for all 6 phoenix lords which should add to the replay factor. Some Example cards;
Twoshoesvans wrote: Have you play tested these cards yet? I avoided the game because I heard it has dismal replayability. Do these really spice it up?
Yeah, I've gone through the Crimson Slaughter expansion and they play fine but make the game MUCH more challenging. Using more random patrol events for the stronger opponents forces you to limit activities that do not involve stealth. while testing I added them incrementally in the following order.
1. Cultist Leaders and Heavies - the flamer added the biggest alterations to the game where it can block corridors & rooms if your assassins are already wounded
2. CSM Chosen - The increased damage potential of the power weapons certainly makes you value stealth
3. CSM Possessed - CC monsters, no pun intended. they effectively have the "sprint" rule so they can get to your guys very quickly indeed.
4. CSM Terminators - Implacable and so far I've elected to avoid rather than confront
5. Hellbrute - I've played it three times and won once so I may need to revisit it.
I'm looking to expand the rules for the rooms outside of spawn points, controls and teleporters. I'm also working on a set of "Versus" rules allowing one player to take on the roll of the Renegades from the core game.
Could GW have done a lot more with it? Absolutely, but I'm having a blast with it.
Not sure if that answers your question...

Having a solo/cooperative game is all well and good but what happens if there are 5 of you? Or what happens when one of you simply wants to beat the Assassins into the ground?
I present the quick and dirty “Versus” rules allowing one player to take on the role of the Crimson Slaughter renegades. I've hosted the printable cards HERE
This is Version 1 of these cards. I’ve played a few games and the Renegades have a distinct advantage. I added the “Revive Stunned Renegades” to offset it and it seemed to do the trick. Any Feedback would be appreciated!

It's been a while but I have been working away in the background. The blue-on-blue mission "The Cleansing of His Beneficent Wrath" is almost ready. I thought I'd show you the characters involved. Work on the new room and event cards continues as does the expanded rules for psykers.

Hey Weyrell, that 4shared (awful awful website) link doesnt work anymore. Tried multible login methods and browsers. Could you put it on another website like mega or dropbox? Dropbox is pretty nice nowadays.
Would be so nice to have these as printed cards.

I'm still working away on the Inquisition mission but I needed a break so I came up with these. Fancy playing the game with chaos champions instead of Assassins? I have to finish off the card backs, supplemental rule cards and the chaos spawn reference card. but it's just a question of typing...

Hey still not got Execution Force and was thinking about getting it before it goes OOP. Longevity is key though. This thread is promising. Did you ever finish the Ork mission? I'd be interested in playing assassins vs genestealer cult and have Deathwatch: Overkill. Any suggestions how I would do the stat cards for the cultists switching in for the renegades?
