Hello all, here are the first sightings of my new Hive Fleet Marrow, the Furiosa.

I sold off all of my 7k of Tyranids to start over, and here are the first pics of my new kids. For the work and process, please check out my P&M.

UPDATE:

Warlord

Rabbit and Demon

The Malanthropes underdeveloped wings buzz constant, hovering over the battlefield while collecting the dead and dying.

The Furiosa pounds the enemy from afar with biomines and seeker drones.

Hive Fleet Marrow, with intense heat signatures inside of their dense chitin carapaces, are an almost blind Tyranid force. No visible jaws or mandibles protrude until the tyranid moves to devourer its prey, at which point it quickly morphs into a serrated feeding mechanism to
better envelop the biomass. The gants begin life with under developed larvae wings, before maturing into full flighted Gargoyles.

Thanks for sharing!

These are fantastically painted. You have an effective, yet simple color scheme that inspires a deep, newfound fear of termites in me. The wings are a nice touch. I'll definitely check out your P&M blog after seeing this.

Excellent all round. Thank you for sharing.

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers.

These look great. Very simple scheme but with really good/liberal use of different inks and washes. Looks excellent across a whole army. Creepy, slightly messy and very organic looking, as tyranids should be IMO.

Look forward to seeing more.

Thanks man, I will expand on it when I've had more time to think about them.

Hey thank you, I'm glad they give off the bug feel.

The eyes in particular, and I'm not even sure if they... still even have their teeth. Did you convert them to not have mouths??

No mouths or eyes, awesome. What a great concept.

I love these nids. I'm having trouble thinking of a more characterful tyranid army. The wings look fantastic and the paint is the most convincing I've seen.

Well done.

I love the colours you have used, very believable colour scheme, buggy!

If I was being very critical I would do more with the bases, some other colour or texture for contrast.

Good stuff!

I LOVE it.

they inspire the image of a bunch of gaunts, like suddenly flapping their wings, and falling/pilling/flying off a harridan as the tyranids just make planetfall.

I want to see more.

Are you planning on opening up a P&M blog for this army, I would like that very much lol.

Thank you, I hope my future opponents enjoy playing against them. I always appreciate when then opponent's army sticks out.

I agree, I am going with an arid desert world to keep the color palette restricted, but on the future big bugs I have a lot of decor ready to go. However, I did leave my Superbeast tyrant's base
sparse intentionally, I wanted no distraction to him.

I agree with many of the posters you have made one of my least favourite army choices (mainly because of the poses) truly awesome.

The wings on that swarm of nids make them look like they should bee working together and therefore the repetitive poses are a must for what you have done.

REALLY REALLY good idea and execution.

I bet they look great on a well done board

edit: Just looked again the clear bits on the gun thingie make it look like they are carrying eggs

Overall I like this theme.

The modelling is great. the pallette used is so suitable and very effective.

One minor quibble is that the stencil effect on the gaunt wings is just to angular and look slightly unnatural compare to the organic look of the rest of the minis.

Overall though I would be happily freaked out if I saw this swarm on the otherside of the table.

I see your point, and I went back and forth on a few designs. I just kept coming back to that because it strikes the 'fly eyes' pattern thats recognizable as insect, and thats what Im trying to do with the whole army, subtle attributes that point
in those directions. Plus, needed something quick and easy! Ha

absolutely fantastic, I love the wings on the 'gants and on your warlord nid (not sure what it is, I'm not hugely familiar with nids), they really add to the insect-y feel of a tyranid swarm. the 'gants remind me of the geonosians from star wars.
