Figure it was time for me to start a painting blog since I love reading about other peoples projects. I will at least in the beginning stay to my undeads but will probably show of other armies later, either here or in a new thread, depending on what you people find best. But for now here is my current forces of death.

I love making upp fluff for my armies and heroes, and usual divide them in different parts, etc, Usirians Knightly order that is under command of Helmut the proud, and in turns serves vampire lord Merkha von Bleibenheim who is the commander of the army.

But here, the current units and sub units of Merkha von Bleibenheims dark host

Merkha Von Bleibenheim and his most trusted commander Drako, commander of the Legions of the bone banners

Helmut the Proud, commander of Usirians Knights and his squire Karlomang

Melchior, leader of the septum cult

The legions of the bone banners, (will change the grave guards banner to a skeleton)

Usirians Knights, although few, each and every one of them is a great warrior.

Will update the first post with pictures of fully painted units and hopefully later armies and will make new posts about my continues progress on the units and heroes.

I have currently 3 spirit host, 10 Black Knights, 80 zombies, 20 Ghouls, 20 Grave Guard, 50 skeletons and one terrorgheist to paint. Will post about the tomb king army later this week when I have painted some more of them.

They told me i was crazy, that i could not win with an army list like that. 2000 points later i found out that they were right

Ok, time for the first update. I have decided to complete first the legions of the bone banners, and will decide later if I should complete the order of Usirian or the zombies and ghouls.

A phalanx of skeleton spearmen, they are the ones that I will focus on first

My remaining grave guards which will make the legions complete for now. Hopefully I will be done to the weekend but more probably it will take another week since I need to study for a test. Will update on the progress on saturday or sunday and show how much of it have been painted.

So unsurpisingly I guess I did not complete the legions of the bone banners but I think they will be done by the weekend atleast. You might have noticed that all pictures have changed and that is because I figured out how to upload the picture to the gallery here on dacha which will help a lot. I will probably be able to bring you the pictures of the skeleton phalanx tomorrow and I hope the grave guard will be done soon.

So I made it, the phalanx is done

I will probably be done with the graveyard this weekend which will conclude the legions of the bone banners. I have a number of more stuff coming up and will decide this weekend in which order everything should be painted.

Any special wishes? I have everything mentioned I have in my VC army in the first post, or I could start with my Tomb King army.

Because we’re here,lad...

That is one great looking army. It's nice to see something other than 40k. What's next on the agenda?

Bash

I love those little moments between the first kiss and the pepper spray...

Thank you, I think I will keep painting the rest of my Vampire counts but maybe take a break to assemble my tomb kings.

And here is the last of the forces to the legions of the bone banners

Automatically Appended Next Post:
And since the legions are complete, here are a picture of them all crowded together

Your army is looking great so far! Very dark and gritty. I love the conversions on High Elf mounts. Where does Helmut come from?

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Thank you. He is the vampire from the Zombie dragon kit. I used some green stuff to make it able for him to be in the saddle

Ok, decided to start building my Tomb Kings because of one vital thing... My hobby lamp is broke which makes it quite annoying to paint. Will take some time to fix it but until then I can atleast paint pictures on what I am building

A test model I painted a while ago. I am not completely sold on the painting scheme and might go for a red/black like in the white dwarf when they released the lates tomb kings army book, what do you think?

And to show some progress, here are 20 tomb guards awaiting their awakening to serve Tomb King Kawathos who I will show later (have him painted)

Long time ago I made an update but sadly real life have gotten in the way. I am currently though building all my unassembled undead and will show pictures of the armies when they are assembled and show what is left to paint

SO

half a year has gone by without an update. I blame it partly on studying, and a bit of hobby burnout since AoS and especially since Tomb kings Squatting... My favourite army .

But on the positive side I have gotten my mind out of the gutter and started to finish my legion of Tomb kings. Have scoured shops and internet after models but will add pictures of my progress on my Tomb guards tomorrow.

EDIT: Changed the thread name to something better in my point of view.

Those are some sweet looking Vampire Counts! Nice and gritty, as they should be I have to ask though: how did you manage to get so many of those skeletons built without losing your sanity? (I'm starting VC myself, and all the fiddly bits are already driving me bonkers)

Jokes aside, I'm looking forward to seeing your Tomb Kings pop up here sometime soon

Here are the first five of my Tomb Guards. As you can see I decided to go or another colour scheme and I think it works nicely. Must add though that Tomb guards are a pain to paint with all those straps everywhere.

Will take some times for me to complete the ones I current have (another 14) and I also hope that I will be able to find more to complete the unit.

Finally had time for another update

I have discovered a very annoying thing about painting tomb guards. For them to look good I basically have to paint them one by one. Every time I try to paint in a batch I make misstakes that makes them look horrible

I have also used a new way to paint them thats different from last time. These guys are currently those that I have painted.

Here is a comparison with one from the last update. I must personally say I like the one to the right more. The colours are more smooth and not so thick on the model. But what do you guys think?
