Couldn't find one I liked of Dark Phoenix (where are all the real redhead cosplayers???) but this regular Phoenix is pretty cute. And that chick in the background is pretty damn cute, too, while we're at it.

Never got into the spandex crowd of comics. I flicked through one or two spiderman or superman comics as a child, but never got the attraction.

I laughted at the 'spandex' comment in Xmen. Watched it because of the actors in it and it looked cool. Couldn't have given a stuff if it crapped on '30 years' comics continuity.

Another girl I always liked was Talia Al'Ghul as well in Batman:

Heard a rumor that she might be in the next film, I personally vote Olivia Wilde or Keira Knightly for the part =D.

It's not a matter of her being 'too thin,' it's just that her breasts don't seem to fit into a glorified magazine standard. Tiggy girl is twiggy. She's still incredibly attractive. As skinny as she is, she doesn't look particularly unhealthy.

She does actually. She looks anorexic in a major way.

Or just wanted to see a good looking woman in Spandex.

Although in all seriousness, X-men isn't some fly by night comic, its got thirty plus years of history behind it when the first movie came out.

You seriously telling me if Hollywood did a Space Marine film set in the 40K universe, but put the actors in normal army gear and then made a joke that 'what did you want us in, ceramic plate' you'd be good with it?

To be fair, aren't the powers of the Xmen more Iconic than their suits? And realistically, wouldn't you want the X-men in something that protects them a little more than Spandex?

To a degree, but in general if you ask most X-men fans, they'd combine the suit and the powers as the thing that sets each member apart.

I think if I think about it my problem was it wasn't so much the suit material, it was them all wearing the same colour.

Part of the message of X-men, is folks can still be individual and work as a team. I've always loved the fact, that the joining thing, the thing that makes you realise they are a team was the simple 'X' logo.

Otherwise each X-man could be their own hero, hardly any of them wear the same style costume.

Eva Mendes is another interesting choice...

I've heard enough nerd rage and nitpicking to power a thousand suns in my lifetime. And several of those 30 years of history were subpar writing that would later get "undone" because by that point the X-men could have any combination of any number of characters appear from out of nowhere due to "alternate reality time travel." The comics are a bit silly and hardly marketable straight up. By making Wolverine a guy in yellow spandex they would have further alienated anyone who may not have seen it. Any comic movies you see will try to keep the spirit of the character as opposed to verbatim because, honestly, comfortable isn't always good. It doesn't mean what they replace it with is better, but odds are the original wouldn't fare much better.

There will always be "alterations" made when a comic makes a leap to the "big screen",it's to be expected as the film makers are attempting to reach a broader audience than simply "fans of the book".
IMO,if a film stays "true to the spirit of the characters" as you said Cannerus, then I've no real complaints.
